I remember Common Tator. His comments were (I thought) in the top rank, quality wise, of those who post here at FreeRepublic. And, by the way, the "top rank" of quality posters here is a pretty large group IMO. :)

I haven't seen his posts in quite some time.

I don't understand Rush's harsh attitude toward those who criticise him (I'm referring here to the earlier post about how Rush disappeared from this forum after someone put up a critical thread and others piled on). I mean, I know he gave a lengthy explaination about why he put that guy from Ellsworth Maine on his "excrement list," but that was someone who actually sent a critical e-mail directly to him. FreeRepublic, as we all know, is an open forum to which anyone can post, as long as they obey the rules of Jim Robinson.

Interesting that he would be so sensitive. Or maybe there's some business reason for it.

I don't think you're right about Common Tator. I checked his postings, and there are elements of his self-described biography that don't add up at all with Rush's. In addition, he seems to be somewhat Ohio-centric, which would not be Rush at all.

I was wrong, however, about Common Tator disappearing. He has posted to Free Republic quite recently.
