You're not a RINO. You're a libertarian Republican, and there are far more of them than you might think. Another term for you might be "fiscal conservative" which differentiates you from "social conservatives."

The two wings comprise the Republican Party, and while some people can be from both "wings", not all of them do.

Yet, it's this alliance that has been successful in recent years, and why we have tossed the Rats out of power in Washington.

I appreciate your words. I am truly a fiscal conservative and a liberterian Republican, but regardless of the title that you give me...others will title me as a RINO. I am comfortable with that...

As for being a minority party, that's silly. If you're not for shrinking the govt, against abortion, cutting taxes and 2nd Amendment rights why would you WANT to be in the GOP??

To prevent those very things from happening. No need to be in the majority, if you can control the majority from within. In the spy world they are called double agents.

I am not looking for sympathy.

Good. You're not going to get it. It wasn't until the Republicans nominated Reagan - - - a "right wing extremist" as the moderates called him (before he was elected) ---- that the GOP really took off. When the moderates ruled - - remember Nixon and Jerry Ford? the GOP was a small minority in Congress and lost to Jimmy Carter - JIMMY CARTER - in the white house race. WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN MODERATES TAKING THE PARTY BACK TO MINORITY STATUS!

I think the Bush records proves that this is whinning from the Moderates.

Bush has given the Moderates a lot more than he has the "Right-Wing".

When President Bush, arguably one of the more conservative presidents in recent history, is under attack from the right wing of the party for his proposal regarding immigration and migrant workers, is it any wonder moderates feel out of sync?

That's got to be a joke. Bush is moving to the left so fast no one has time to nail down the tent pegs for the 'big tent'.

Are you a libertarian Republican or a moderate Republican?

There is a difference.

Moderates like Snowe and Jeffords.

Libertarians like Ron Paul.

Moderates like Hand Gun Control and no Conceal Carry, they like free health care for anyone making under 30,000 a year paid by the government, they like endless farm subsidies.

Why not give us a taste of you views and let us discuss the issue?

As a moderate Republican do you support solving environmental solutions rather than environmentalism as an excuse for the non solution of more centralized command big government control?

As a supporter of legal immigration what do you advocate that we do to stop illegal immigration? And if you admire Christy Whitman, how do you account for her lack of effectiveness during her tenure in the cabinet?

As a moderate Republican, I find myself holding my nose and voting for evangelical Republicans that hold social issues more important than smaller government/fiscal conservative issues that I find important.

That's a rather bizarre assessment.
My experience with "evangelicals" leaves me with the impression that they ALSO tend to favor smaller government, states' rights, fiscal responsibility (balanced budgets, etc.) etc. etc.

IMHO, your actual beef is with other moderate RINOs, but you're too confused to realize it.

Now you've done it... just close your eyes and march - lockstep, lockstep, lockstep!

A great many "Republicans" think that their exact set of values is the ONLY set of values to be "Republican"... and this is while some advocate registering as Independent or Constitution Party, even voting third party ;-)

You aren't a RINO... those who sneer and hint you are evil if you don't believe exactly as they do, those are the ones acting "leftist".

To infiltrate the party and turn it left, as has been done in the media and education??

The link doesn't work.

The points you list in your post seem reasonable to me. IMHO there is room in the Rep. party for moderates, conservatives, evangelicals.
