The Jewish Community Relations Council, the major public policy voice of the Jewish community in Greater Boston, has voted overwhelmingly to endorse same-sex marriage.

The endorsement, by an umbrella organization representing 42 Jewish groups, is part of a growing effort by liberal religious voices to counter the strong opposition to same-sex marriage voiced by the state's Catholic bishops. The bishops of the state's four Catholic dioceses today plan to announce a major campaign to defeat same-sex marriage.

"It's not that we do not believe in the civil rights of gay couples -- we believe each person should be able to live in this great country -- but we don't believe in calling it marriage," Schwartz said. "It's morally incorrect, and what's next? Bestiality? Marrying a dog? Marrying your cat?"

Polygamy is next. All of the arguments about why two people of the same sex ought to be allowed to marry can also be applied to group marriages.

Marriage is either a man and a woman or it is anything goes. At the very least it become a contract between consenting adults. Polygamy and incest follow. With minor tweaking on consent, the animals come into play.

Social Security, Tax deductions, mandatory insurance coverage, and work-place benefits for "spouses" will quickly create huge financial problems. And the number of children being raised in unstable homes will skyrocket (long-term homosexual relationships last, on average, 1.5 years).

Specifically by Jewish definition, which says something about how some of these so called religious groups view their own foundations.

The liberal Jewish group's statement of support for same-sex marriage is utterly devoid of any attempt to defend its position in terms of Jewish law.

The group is no different from the liberal Episcopalians who appointed a gay bishop without any serious attempt to square their decision with unequivocal biblical prohibitions.

For liberal Jews their religion is Liberalism. Judaism is a quaint ethnic trope. Consequently, it is a blood libel for someone to speak ill of any Liberal god(see Clinton) whereas there is no problem religiously for a man to lie down with another man or with a dog, a wallaby or a metrosexual.
