The President had a very busy day today, leaving this morning for New Orleans, Louisiana, appearing first at a roundtable discussion on faith-based initiatives, then at Union Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church where he spoke to faith based and community leaders, and finally at a fundraising luncheon at the National D Day Museum.

He then traveled to Atlanta, Georgia where, accompanied by Coretta Scott King and King's daughter, Christine King Ferris, he placed a wreath on the tomb of Martin Luther King, Jr. on what would have been his 75th birthday, and this evening is at a fundraiser this evening with Democrat, Zell Miller, who will be campaigning for the President‘s reelection this year (Go, Zell!)

Enjoy this MUCH needed visit to Sanity Island as you revel in your Daily Dose of Dubya!!

***Caption to Alpork's picture........***

You are such a good mom! I've been typing English assignments for my daughter, but they're only about a page long. It's sure fun to see her view of things, tho. :-)

Oh my God, no.

MamaB, please accept my most sincere sympathies. We've been praying for Jan for so long. We'll continue to pray for her, and you and your family. I'm so very sorry.

Saw this on another thread......Didn't someone mention the other night that more people were killed in large cities than in Iraq.....Well here's some statistics:

FOR ALL the attention we spend on the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq, this is the statistic that should really capture people's attention in Philadelphia:
Last year, more people were killed in Philadelphia than in war-torn Iraq: 347 in the city vs. 327 in Iraq. And even more disturbing: Last year's number is a 20 percent increase from 2002's 288 homicides. Twenty percent.

Oh, that is so sad.

Mama B and Jan have gone through so much. I guess Jan's poor body just couldn't take it any more.

Prayers for the whole family, 'specially Mama.

Hey Mike ... have you every seen the show Covert Action on the Discovery Channel?

If so, how accurate are they in telling the stories?

Plenty of fine people have panic attacks and take stuff to sleep.

But they shouldn't be president, and the sensible ones wouldn't want to.
