Let them fantasize... they will wake up when it's clear she won't run. IF Condi Rice is as smart as alleged, then she definitely will not run for President on a GOP ticket. Although I doubt she is as smart as alleged... I think we have sort of a Donovan McNabb phenomenon going on here - people very desirous that she succeed in politics because she is a black woman.

Rice is more liberal than Bush is, and people on this board are always crying about how "Bush isn't a real Conservative" - and these are the same people infatuated with Rice.

Regardless of whether she elects to run for office: I think Condi Rice is as smart as alleged, because her accomplishments are outstanding. I'd be interested in hearing why you think she is anything less than very bright. Incidentally, I have yet to see a documented reference on her stance regarding either abortion or immigration.
As far as Rudy goes, I have enormous respect for the man. I know his wife was not supportive of him in his second term. But I think his judgment was poor. Divorce your spouse if your relationship is irrevocably over, then commence another relationship. There are very few excuses for adultery. It does not mean I won't vote for him, but it does tarnish him somewhat in my eyes.

Although I agree she woudln't be the best candidate in '08, she'd be a great Veep in '08 and she is by no means overrated in either her intellegence or potential.
And also, while what Rush said isn't racist, it was wrong. Did you see McNabb during the last playoff game? He was incredible.
