[Young and Disgusted]

I’m 22, pretty new to politics, and I am completely disgusted with what I see in the world today.

Now I ask you: “What am I missing?”

I am confused that there are so many who like the direction our country is headed under it’s new leadership, and I am interested in knowing if there is something that I do not understand. Please, Enlighten me.

I’m 22, pretty new to politics, and I am completely disgusted with what I see in the world today.

I see the “land of the free” with more people behind bars per capita than any other westernized nation.

I see a “Defense” budget being used for preemptive attack.

I see a huge federal deficit being met by gigantic tax cuts for the few Americans who don’t DESPERATELY NEED THEM.

We are the richest country on the planet, and yet we have poverty sweeping the nation,

In our last election we had the Supreme Court decide a victor, and then declare that their ruling should not be considered president with one judge casting his vote for the SON OF THE MAN WHO APPOINTED HIM.

I see our foreign policy being conducted by a branch of government with un-elected officials.

I see people who call themselves Christians completely disregarding the words “DO NOT KILL.”

I see all these things, and I see the Republicans consumed and distracted by a feverish lust for victory. I see Social Darwinists with hypocritical morality disregarding the pain they cause in pursuit of their only real concern: POWER

Might does not make right. The republicans seem to be the most organized. They seem to be the most efficient. They seem to be the more powerful.

The Democrats seem to be the only ones who share my concerns. They are weak and disorganized, but those are the disadvantages of afflicting yourself with trying to do what is best for all mankind.

By my evaluation everything of importance has gotten worse since Bush was elected/appointed.

-Economy- My dad has been out of work for almost two years now. He’s smart too He’s got Masters in Physics from M.I.T. and a B.A. in electronic engineering from Stanford.

-Security- I think we were more secure when only small countries hated us. Looking at the history I think they had every right to hate us, but that’s a different story. Bush has made enemies with most of Europe and China. Those are some scary rivals.

-Society- I feel that there is so much more hatred and social unrest now. People who didn’t support Bush are being labeled as un-American. The patriot act is a complete slap in the face to our civil liberties. The department of homeland security is yet another agency not invented by the writers of the constitution without the proper checks and balances in place. Our prisons are full. Our workers are Idle.

You all seem so be a bunch of arrogant old men nostalgic for a time where you were worth anything to a peaceful world. I hope you all give yourselves heart attacks before your brand of fearful hate slinging brings any more problems upon the world.

Now I ask you: “What am I missing?”
