Just got home from the book store. Now that Al Franken's book is no longer up front with the new releases, I note it is now found in "humor", presumably for the humor-impaired.

He may have to give up his morning taunts of the FR viking kitties if he wants to keep time for DU in his daily schedule.

This is what I glean. They will NOT be using callers. It will not involve audience participation. It will probably be a "they report, they decide, you obey" format.

Franken was on charlie rose a few nights ago around 2am. (its a long story) He repeated all the lies he has said about rush "repeatedly saying" and his show would be drug free, rush in jail blah blah blah.

As an example, he made an issue of his asking Bill O'Reily for a flattering picture. Why would O'Reily give Franken anything? Franken is a place you put rectal thermometers.

The man is full of hate is very apparent. He could never survive with audience participation. In fact that should be the question he is asked repeatedly. Franken is a coward.

"So Al scared of a few phone calls."

"Al what are you afraid of?"

He will probably be imitating the SNL format for radio. IOW he will be ripping off the Shanklin parodies.

The headlines should scream: FRANKIN REFUSES CALLS or FRANKIN HIDES FROM AUDIENCE.

It has to be in humor. If it is in commentary then he is subject to liable. Franking is just a comedian not a comentator. He can't be a serious writer because the things he says will leave him bankrupt.

He is trying to have it both ways.

I wish O'Reily had taken him further on this.

Even if he lost, he would have forced franken out of the serious anlyst area into pigeon holing himself into the mere comedian.

Frankin Radio show will probably take the same tack. State a lie, then just say it is just satire.

In fact frankin should just say that in the begining of his show to inoculate it. How many people will listen day in day out to irrelevant satire.

I hate the fact that Rush, drug abuse, and his maid are a big topic of liberals.

I suspect Franken and liberal radio will devote a lot of time to the war, especially American deaths, injuries, and suicides. IMO O'Reilly helped Franken's career, and I hope O'Reilly learned a lesson from that.

The company seems like a ponzi scheme. Get emotional excitement about the company. Get a few celebs to ad legitimacy. (call woopie I hear she hates republicans. Southpark did woopie best) Go public, sell stock, take company into ch 11, fail then go ch 7. Walk away with money.

Frankin will not take calls. Rush does well with the one on one. Franking will just be satire and parodies. no substance or interaction.

Rush is ALL one on one debate. I think you are mistaking liberals who yell as one on one debate. Dealing with rude people or shouters is just par for the course.

Rush has put any number of absurd leftists on his site to point out their absurd positions.

Frankin is trying to pigeon hole rush as "limited" to something. He is then going to say he is something "X" which is differnet.

Just marketing. Franking is going to say he is the first "x" radio show in order to claim number one at something.

No diffent than book publishers playing number games.

Newsflas to frankin. Rush has had guests. They call in like everyone else, but they are scheduled guests. Franking is just going to have his guests in the studio.

I hope O'Reily focuses that Frankin hid behind the satire label. Frankin's book is not serious it is satire. Just for jokes.

O'Reily took care of his image when he had the SNL competition, MADtv's actor who immitates O'Reily, on his show. He even had a clip of the skit of O'Reily interviewing O'Reily.
