Nothing cooking at the moment. I got woke up after less than 2 hours of sleep, so I'm about to head back to my pillow and blankies. ;)

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. GOOD MORNING TO OUR MILITARY, THEIR FAMILIES, AND OUR ALLIES.

Good morning lurkers.

Welcome everyone to the Canteen. Come in and have some pancakes. Radix fixes de-lish-e-ous pancakes. We have plenty of syrup, coffee, and conversation.

Please respect all posted signs.......

Well, I thought I'd post a little FYI today. It seems everybody and his brother has been sick this year. Here is a little tidbit I got out of my Health magazine (November 2003 issue) regarding Influenza (the Flu)......excerpt....."People just aren't scared enough of the influenza virus. When you get the flu you are really, really sick. You don't just take a pill and go to work. You stay in bed for a week and feel really lousy......"Where does it come from?"...."A large amount of data suggests that natural reservoirs of flu viruses are wild birds, ducks, geese, and shore birds. The 1918 flu may have come directly from a bird, or from an intermediate host between the bird and the human."....."The flu constantly mutates, so scientists have to make a different vaccine every year."

I underlined the two sentences for emphasis. Many people cannot bear the thought of NOT going to work, but here is a valid reason to consider staying home. Not only for the health of other people, but for your own health.

I apologize to our military who are stationed away from home and cannot stay home when they are sick. You are excluded by reason of necessity where you cannot take time off.

So, bottom line is when you are sick, take time to treat yourself nice. Baby yourself. For your health!
