DETROIT (AP) - Ted Nugent was injured on the Texas set of his reality show when a chain saw cut through his leg.

The outspoken rocker, outdoors enthusiast and star of the VH1 series "Surviving Nugent: The Ted Commandments," required 40 stitches to close the gash in his leg on Sunday, Michelle Clark, a spokeswoman for the cable music channel, said Tuesday.

Nugent challenged the contestants to live off the land in his rural compound near Jackson, about 70 miles west of Detroit.

COMPOUND? A little biasness there?

For what it's worth, I've heard the actor Sean Penn refer to his place as a "compound." I got the impression that he was talking about a walled and gated mansion in the Northern Calif area where he'd be safe from his adoring fans.

I've never been too impressed with Ted.

He's seems to be a bigmouthed lout who LOVES to kill animals.

Funny how he thinks he's a huge conservative because he hunts and he hates to pay taxes.

I may be completely wrong but that's been my impression of him. Now I'm gonna' get flamed for sure from the Teddabots. So here in advance I offer this:

I admit I haven't explored much about Ted, but I have seen him in interviews and he made me kind of cringe because he gives conservatism a kind of sick, evil sort of look.

Especially when he talks about how much he LOVES to kill animals with a bow (great sport to cause such pain and trauma, huh?)

Hey, hunting and hunters aint' so bad if your humane enough and you use the meat, but Ted seems kinda' sick about it in a sadistic sort of way.

Just my own presonal impression, don't anybody get too excited, now.

The thing about Ted is if you debate him, you will lose. He just has a way to make his opponent look like an idiot.

Though I do agree with you in the sadistic description...but hey, the guy never claimed to be hoitsy toitsy. His nickname is "Motorcity Madman". What do you want? lol

Ted should run for Lieutenant Governor in CA! AND bring his old chainsaw.

Actually, bow-hunting is generally considered to be more humane than hunting with a firearm. A well-placed shot will kill the animal quicker and with less pain involved. And, Teddy DEFINITELY uses all the meat from his kills ;)

To provide a fresh spin and new challenges, the location has been shifted from the woods of Michigan to Nugent's sprawling, multi-acred compound located just outside of Waco, Texas.

And in the second episode, the contestants have to deal with Janet Reno and Wesley Clark.

Heck, my Grandpa split his leg open with an axe hunting around Canada one winter. Sewed it shut with horse hair. When Grandma saw it in the sauna she got hold of the doc who said he was damn lucky it was wintertime.

YEP, but only because you don't understand hunters and hunting. Using a bow is a real man's sport. Even I can take an elephant gun and kill a rabbit - no sport - but you are pitting skill against the prey when using the bow.

Don't know much about The Nuge either, but anyone who rattles the PETApukes' cages like he does is AOK in my book.

LOL!! I agree. Don't have to worry about that though since we are on the same side of nearly every issue. I just wish he got more air time on some of the news outlets.

That was kind of the point. They're city folks, it's all about dropping big city liberals into fly over country and making them survive. My favorite scene is when Rocco tells Ted why the Vegan can't win: the truck has leather seats. Smart boy, always thinkin.

I sort of agree with you. He's way too into all the heads on his walls.

Ted's o.k., but all his shooting is not masculine or manly to me. It seems a little weird, but maybe I'm nuts. Afterall I take caterpillars off streets and roads so they will live a little longer. So who's nuts? ;)

The heck with that. Ted's here in Texas now. Let us elect him to something first.
