Conservatives Should Support the President Now and in November Becauseā€¦

…They Asked for His Kind of Leadership

You hear it in the coffee shops all over the "red areas" of the map. Everyone knows that is where the real politics is discussed in America. Conservatives are asking themselves, "What was the President thinking?" They might be talking about No Child Left Behind, or steel tariffs or the signing of many less than conservative bills.

In the coffee shops in the "blue areas," liberals don't sit around much. They are too angry and busy to stop for a while but many are thinking that President Bush is the most conservative president in years, since "oh, my God, Reagan," and he must be stopped.

Both of these assessments cannot be true and after spending years looking at politics, I took my first serious stand on a candidate in 1968 at the tender age of 9, if both sides are mad at you, you are probably on the right track. So why should conservatives and moderates support the President, now on issues and later this year at the ballot box?

-snip-

Based on the history of this President, we better not count him out till we see how things unfold. He is what conservatives asked for in a President. He cut taxes, got our economy going again and lives and breathes the safety of this country and the people in it. When it is all said and done, George W. Bush does what he believes is right for the American people and he is willing to stand on his record in November.

You need to answer the question otherwise your ‘opinion’ is just trash talk.

No I don't need to do anything. You're a stupid n00b who flew in from nowhere who means absolutely nothing to me.

But thanks for the advice.

You contribute such great substance to the discussion.

By all means, please continue. I'm fascinated by your intellectual depth.

I am not sure but I think Ford would be considered more conservative than Whore-Hay Bush

Well I'll take a "Whore-Hay" Bush anyday over a Nanometerdik head.

Is that the best you can do?

But what can anybody expect from somebody who is willing to turn this country over to the liberals.

Oh, I don't despise Bush. I just manage to call myself a conservative and actually stick to it. Others simply have their tongues stuck to something else entirely.

I never said Reagan was perfect but trying to elevate Bush to his standards is idiotic at best.

And, my fault, I forgot CFR.

Just wait until he starts attributing things to you that you have never said, and refuses to post a link to where you said it when challenged.

>>Why? Why wouldn't he veto something he felt deeply and inherently against?<<

I guess the same reason he would sign CFR and turn right around and say it would probably be struck down in the Supreme Court as unconstitutional. Which it wasn't, of course.

It makes no sense. But of course, it was once hailed by many here as brilliant "strategery."

Brilliant! I feel like I'm speaking to Edmunde Burke, or perhaps Friedrich Hayek, or dare I say even Lord Blackstone.

Your ability to debate the substance of the issues is phenomenal!

Kudos! You're the best.

Conservatives Should Support the President Now and in November Because…
He ended the recession in the first year of his first term, defeated 2 of our declared enemies in the course of 18 months with a casualty rate of less than 0.25%, and after tax cuts kicked in, presided over an 8.2% growth in GDP, while bringing unemployment below 6%.

For a synopsis, See my tag line.

This is old and tiring. For once, tell me what you are doing to make the Republicans the conservatives they're supposed to be? How are you changing things, Howlin? Lay it out, once and for all. And no, internet bitching doesn't count.

There's really nothing to debate; you're willing to turn the country over to liberals, I'm not.

The end.

Go play somewhere else.

Because we can't turn this country around in four years and if we don't reelect President Bush we will lose what progress we have made. Is he better than his father? Yes. Is he better than Bill Clinton? Yes. We are on the right track, just don't expect us to get there tomorrow.

Bring back the good ol' days of gridlock.

I'm with you...."gridlock" got an bad rap as it now seems to be the best political situation conservatives who favor small government can actually hope for.

I still like the President, but I have no appreciation for this new brand of "conservatism", and even less for it's leading spokespeople. I'm starting to wonder if by supporting Bush I am in fact supporting that arrogant mindset and whether it makes any sense to do so.

Perhaps instead of flaming you can offer your thoughts and ideas on this issue? Or are you going to name call instead of offering solutions?

I believe I gave you the list of things that I do one other time. I have no intention of reposting it for you.

And no, internet bitching doesn't count.

So you really don't have anything to offer then, do you?

If you check - I haven't been flaming, nor did I flame it first. It began with "You're a loser."

I have contributed to the substance. It has not.

Remember...we have a 2 party system...

And that's just the way the 2 parties want to keep it. Screw both of them, vote for a party that will live by principles, be it the Constitution Party or the Libertarian Party.
