Think this latest piece from RNC is a perfect addition to this thread:
CARELESS CLARK

CLARK SAYS CLINTON GAVE BUSH ADMINISTRATION
WAR PLAN TO DISMANTLE AL QAEDA?January 12, 2004: After the bombings at American embassies in Tanzania and Kenya, and the attack on the USS Cole . . . the Clinton team spent months devising a detailed special operations plan to dismantle Al Qaeda that was in place in 2000. They built a plan and turned it over to the Bush administration, said Clark, who said the plan was ignored. This administration failed to do its duty to protect the United States of America before 9/11. (Raja Mishra and Joanna Weiss, Iraq Was Distraction, Clark Says, The Boston Globe, 1/13/04)
CLINTON NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR
SANDY BERGER SAYS CLARK IS INCORRECTSeptember 19, 2002: [T]here was no war plan [to fight terrorism and Al Qaida] that we turned over to the Bush administration during the transition. And the reports of that are just incorrect. (Samuel R. Berger, U.S. House Of Representatives And U.S. Senate, Select Committees On Intelligence, Joint Hearing, 9/19/02

"During the transition", sure, ok. But later? I think the "RNC" is missing the subtleties in an effort to get Clark.

Democrats in New Hampshire nervous that frontrunner Howard Dean is too gaffe-prone and harshly anti-Bush are beginning to turn to ... Gen. Wesley Clark?
Anyone who listens to what Clark says on the stump every day can only consider his surge fueled partly by doubts about the seemingly out-of-control Dean with incredulity. Clark isn't much of a substantive or tonal alternative to the former Vermont governor. He's just Dean with medals. If anything, Clark is more outrageous than the front-runner, routinely questioning President Bush's patriotism.

Here are the facts: Wes Clark has always said that there was some link between al Qaeda and Saddam's intelligence agents. But he has also always maintained that there is NO evidence that Iraq was in any way responsible for 9/11 or for training or equipping al Qaeda operatives. He said that in 2002, and he is saying that today.Clark is more threatened by what Cheney and Bush might have conspired to do than what Saddam and Osama might have conspired. Admitting that there was contact between the two camps only makes him appear that much nuttier and incapable of handling US security. He is guilty of a lack of imagination (for anything that doesn't include furthering his career). And it was a lack of imagination that led to September 11.

Hear Bush 41 Warn Us--October 19, 1992*
CNN's favorite general, Wesley Clark, has also been heard to opine that our troops are getting bogged down in Iraq. His competence to judge American generals is questionable since his command was limited to working for NATO. We prefer to hear from American generals. Clark's contribution to international relations consisted of mistakenly bombing the Chinese embassy in Belgrade. In his zeal to prevent troop casualties, he ordered pilots to fly at such high altitudes that the pilots complained that they were being forced to incur unnecessary civilian casualties. LEHRER: President Bush, your closing statement, sir. PRESIDENT BUSH: Three weeks from now--two weeks from tomorrow, America goes to the polls and you're going to have to decide who you want to lead this country ... On foreign affairs, some think it's irrelevant. I believe it's not. We're living in an interconnected world...And if a crisis comes up, ask who has the judgment and the experience and, yes, the character to make the right decision? And, lastly, the other night on character Governor Clinton said it's not the character of the president but the character of the presidency. I couldn't disagree more. Horace Greeley said the only thing that endures is character. And I think it was Justice Black who talked about great nations, like great men, must keep their word. And so the question is, who will safeguard this nation, who will safeguard our people and our children? I need your support, I ask for your support. And may God bless the United States of America. CARELESS CLARK
Unprepared, Unprincipled Or Both?
Radio show host Michael Medved has been doing a good job of documenting
the Not-Ready-For-Prime-Time (or any time) Gen. Wesley Clark.
I'd say that Medved devotes one hour of his show maybe every other week to
simply speaking the truth about Clark.
And then he pushes the buttons of the Clark supporters by simply calling him
"Weasely Clark".
Medved's show can be heard over the net at www.krla870.com M-F
at Noon-3PM Pac Time.
Sorry I can't give you time of a "Weasely" segment...interested parties will
just have to check in and hope to catch one.
Speaking for myself alone, Gen. Clark reminds me so much of Jimmy Carter.
As a civilian politican, both of them appear to have IQs that don't hit room temp...
but somehow they compiled distinguished records in the military (although
Gen. Shelton seems to think otherwise about Clark).
For both Clark and Carter, it's like each of them had a stupider evil twin
who took over once they entered politics.
