The gay blacks I have known (and there have been two or three) want to stay under the radar to avoid the social stigma (that will never EVER go away). They have quiet dignified lives. I think it speaks well for those that realize their lot in life doesn't mix with the norm and that they have to make the best of their situation.

Seeing so many white faces accompanying gay stories, many heterosexual African-Americans understandably equate being gay with being white.

They're in for a rude shock. The rate of homosexuality in the black community is twice as high, and of bisexuality, four times as high. The 4x bisexual figure can possibly be explained by a higher incarceration rate, but that can't explain the 2x rate of "pure" homosexuals. Chalk it up to the psychological effects of fatherlessness, I guess.

I don's see why any of these people's opinion on gay marriage is relevant, whereas the releveance of former General Colin Powell's opinion on the impact of homosexuals serving in the military is obvious.

Numerous gays have kids because they were married first and then came out; for reference, see Bishop V. Gene Robinson of the ECUSA Diocese of New Hampshire. Numerous lesbians have children because being a lesbian doesn't necessarily destroy the maternal instinct, artificial insemination isn't exactly rocket science, and there's no shortage of sperm donors. Plus, the laws and inhibitions against allowing homosexual couples to adopt are being steadily reduced, and more and more homosexual couples are seeking to adopt.

There's plenty of homosexuals with children, either with or without their genetic material.
