"The students "never gave thought to the repercussions of their acts," said Wade's lawyer, Murray J. Janus. "They were idealistically involved in the cause for the environment."
I am so angry at such senseless violence..the attorney thinks that this half-assed apology makes up for their youthful indescretion.
They should be made fully accountable and responsible for their actions in the form of full restitution. No matter how long it takes. Period.

A lawyer for Linas, Matthew P. Geary, added that equating his client's actions to ecoterrorism is "inappropriate when you're talking about three kids who have never been in trouble before." If it was not "ecoterrorism", then what the hell was it?
"Malicious destruction of property for a noble cause"? Is that what it was?
I'd settle for that, though -- so long as it is a felony crime that carries five years hard time and full restitution.

As more and more companies put up security cameras, these little weasel types can count on getting arrested and tried for acts of terrorism.
And IMO, this is a very very good thing because they're as dangerous as radical Islamists!

"The three were affiliated with the group Earth Liberation Front (search)."
Shouldn't criminal and civil charges go forward, against this entity, all directors and officers?
Shouldn't the entity be enjoined from meetings, fundraising, etc.?
Shouldn't the officers (and directors?) be charged criminally and civilly?

18+ years = ADULT TIME!

I would think federal charges under the RICO statutes.

Only five years in prison? They should get at least twenty.

It certainly appears that RICO could be used to go after ELF.
