An often overlooked aspect to all this...

The Kilroy-Silk column criticized Arab States and Arab culture, but it is Muslim organizations in Britain that are raising a stink, and most British Muslims aren't even even Arabs, they're Pakistani (Central Asians).

I happen to have a number of (non-Arab) Muslim friends and acquaintances. My whispering campaign: "Why are you letting Arabs use your religion as a vehicle for destroying your culture and imposing theirs?"

That Islam combines church, state and culture in one big goody bag is something that's taught in Middle Eastern History 101.

I forget who wrote it, but a while back I read an essay that said that in Islam, *everything* is a religious issue -- a car mechanic had better be able to show how his repairs originated with the teachings of the Koran.
