Fans to Rally for Michael Jackson at Child Molestation Arraignment

LOS ANGELES - When Michael Jackson (news) is arraigned later this week on child molestation charges, the pop star won't be alone if his fans have anything to say about it. Fans and family of Jackson, including his brother Jermaine, planned a news conference Monday at the Jackson family complex to announce plans for a massive show of support Friday at the singer's scheduled arraignment.

Jackson's fan clubs plan to have groups of cars and buses travel to the courthouse in northern Santa Barbara County from areas including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orange County, Long Beach, Santa Monica, San Diego, Pasadena, Carson, Costa Mesa and Riverside, said Angel Howansky, a freelance publicist who is helping coordinate the event.

"We've had fans calling from out of state who are flying in just for the arraignment. So the fan clubs decided that they would have caravans," said Howansky. She added that she was helping without pay.

Meanwhile, more than two dozen Jackson lawyers, accountants, bankers, and managers were to meet at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Monday morning to discuss the singer's business affairs, said Jackson family friend Brian Oxman, who said he learned details of the plans from Jackson's brother Randy.

"There is to be a meeting of the brain trusts for Michael's management," Oxman said. "Rumors will be set to rest, and it's to explain how Michael is to handle further actions in connection with his business. They have not specified what it is or who is to be doing the speaking."

Jackson, 45, is charged with seven counts of performing lewd or lascivious acts upon a child under 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent. He's free on $3 million bail pending his arraignment.

The Friday court date also was to include a hearing for news organizations who are asking a judge to unseal documents related to the Nov. 18 search of Jackson's Neverland Ranch.

The news organizations contend that the public was not adequately notified of a request by Jackson's attorney and Santa Barbara prosecutors to keep the search documents sealed, at least until the arraignment.

The documents include the search warrant, an affidavit in which authorities explained their reasons for seeking the warrant, and a list of items seized.

Michael Jackson to lease out his Neverland ranch

Sat Jan 10,12:14 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (AFP) - Singer Michael Jackson (news) intends to lease out his Neverland ranch, the lavish spread that police searched two days before arrested him on child molestation charges, media reports said.

"The 37,000 square foot (3,400 sq meter) estate is a rental," said People magazine, adding, "Jackson is said to be serious about staying away from Neverland for good."

The ranch is located in the community of Santa Maria in western California. It boasts a ferris wheel, amusement rides and a small zoo.

"He can now be closer to his family," said Jackson family lawyer Bryan Oxman.

ETOnline reported Jackson was for the moment roughing it in a 2.25-acre Beverly Hills mansion which he rents for 70,000 dollars a month.

The pop singer is due to be arraigned on the molestation charges next week.

Michael Jackson to Appear in a Movie

Fri Jan 9,10:03 AM ET

NEW YORK - You may soon be seeing Michael Jackson (news) on the big screen. The entertainer is in a movie titled "Miss Cast Away," about a group of beauty pageant contestants who crash-land on a deserted island, where they find Noah's Ark.

Jackson plays a force sent by the pope in a beam of light to dispense wisdom to the stranded women. No word on when or how the movie will be released.

In other news, Jackson is making good on his promise to put the "Never" in Neverland. In his "60 Minutes" interview, Jackson said he wouldn't go back to live at his estate after police combed through it in a criminal raid.

Now, the television show "Extra" reports the singer has rented a multi-million dollar home in Beverly Hills, Calif. The report says the mansion doesn't have anywhere near the square footage of his Neverland Ranch, but it does have a tennis court and swimming pool.

Is the list of sponsors of the Michael Jackson special available anywhere?

It seems to me blacks would be offended by Michael whose frantic efforts to be white would feel like a betrayal.

I can't imagine where they are going to put all the people in the caravan. Why are idiots flying in just for an arraignment?

Wait, I answered my own question, they are idiots.

If they really were concerned about Michael, they'd get him the psychiatric help he so clearly needs.

FYI...Fox just showed a private eye who said that Michael is paranoid that the police bug his home. Since the guy who checks Jackson's home for bugs is in jail, he hasn't got anyone to do it, and that is why he moved out.

Who did the sweeping of Michael's house? ANTHONY PALLODINO!!!!

Exactly. Of course, our city fathers and mothers are positively salivating at the prospect of all the revenue this is going to bring into town.

The Courthouse is right in the heart of downtown, directly across from our dying mall. There's plenty of place to park in the mall garage, but we've heard that the city wants to charge $500 for parking places in the courthouse parking lot :-(

They probably got the idea from Kobe's case. It was sick to hear people cheer him not on the basketball court but on the way to being charged with rape. . "Way to go, Kobe."
