I still don't get it. Where's the "racism" in that remark? I don't see anything either amusing or offensive in the comment. Can someone explain to me what the issue is? Because I don't see it. What am I missing?

The dangerous demagogue, realizing that he's finished, blows himself away... a perfect ending.... That's not how I remember THE DEAD ZONE ending. When Sheen realizes someone is firing at him, he takes a baby and puts it in front of him. A photographer takes that photo and it is on the cover of every major magazine...this guy would put a baby in front of himself to protect himself from being shot and that's what ends his career.

But Ghandi was a "white male". How can there be anything "racist" in what the Hildabeast said?
At worst we are faced with a Romany joking about a Brahmin, and that's just class consciousness, not racism.
I really do wish you critics could keep these things straight!

What is really hilarious about this, is that in India they think Hillary is WONDERFUL.. believe it or not! I wonder if their viewpoint has changed due to this snafu on Hitlery's part? (IF they've even heard about it.. )

THIS LETTER I FOUND UNINTENTIONALLY HILLARY-OUS:
Hillary Clinton's recent racist joke about Gandhi working at a gas station in St. Louis was an insult not only to Gandhi's legacy, but also to the thousands of Indian Americans who voted for her in the last election.
If Mrs. Clinton thinks that her racist slur will be forgiven, she is surely mistaken. All of my friends at the gas station are furious.

Indo-American Council deplores Hillary remarks on Mahatma Gandhi

Washington, Jan 10 (PTI) The Indian-American Republican Council today asked Senator Hillary Clinton to apologise directly to the Indo-American community for the "outrageous" comments she reportedly made on Mahatma Gandhi.
"It is simply outrageous that Hillary Clinton used the venerable Mahatma Gandhi to perpetuate racial stereotypes," the Council's co-chairman Sudhakar Shenoy said.
Hillary had joked that Mahatma Gandhi used to run a gas station in the US, while speaking at a fund-raiser for Senate candidate Nancy Farmer. She had regretted the comments in the same speech saying Gandhi was a great leader of 20th century.
"Hillary Clinton said she was just making 'a lame attempt at humour.' This is truly shameful. I assure that the Indian American community is not laughing. Humour based on racial slurs has no place in public discourse. We call on Hillary Clinton and Nancy Farmer to apologise directly to Indian Americans," he said.
The comments demonstrate Hillary Clinton doesn't truly respect our heritage and culture, Shenoy said.
"Bill and Hillary Clinton heap lavish praise to our faces, but behind our backs, they use hurtful racial stereotypes that perpetuate ignorance and cause harm to our community," he said.
Hillary had urged Americans in her book 'It Takes a Village' that adults must speak out against racial, ethnic, religious or gender slurs. "It is the height of hypocrisy for her to urge Americans to speak out against ethnic slurs, only to shamelessly make such slurs herself," he said. PTI
