STOP AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS
ConservativeAlerts.com ^ | 1/8/2004 | Editorial

Posted on 01/11/2004 5:36:57 PM PST by kellynla

As you've probably heard by now, President Bush has called for a major overhaul of America's immigration system, to grant legal status to millions of illegal-alien workers in the United States.

While Pres. Bush was quoted saying that, "I oppose amnesty, placing undocumented workers on the automatic path to citizenship," many conservative groups like the Federation for American Immigration Reform (fairus.org) insist that his "proposals for a massive new 'guestworker' program" would threaten homeland security, grant amnesty for law-breakers (a step overwhelmingly opposed by the American public), establish a backdoor immigration program, and threaten the jobs and wages of American workers.

In fact, three dozen House Republicans had already sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, "strongly and unequivocally" opposing mass amnesty for illegal immigrants; this letter becomes particularly important now with Pres. Bush's announcement. Today, we're asking you to sign on to that letter to Sec. Ridge, with copies to President Bush, your two Senators and your Congressman.

As proud Americans, we must strongly and unequivocally oppose mass amnesty for people who violate our immigration laws. Mere discussion of the possibility of amnesty encourages illegal immigration. We must enforce the immigration laws currently on our books rather than dangle the prospect of citizenship in front of potential immigration lawbreakers. We must increase immigration law enforcement, not only at borders but in the interior, making it more costly for lawbreakers to disregard our immigration laws.

Since 1986, Congress has passed seven amnesties for illegal aliens. Clearly this is a short-term "fix" to a long-term problem. Rewarding people who violate our immigration laws sends the wrong message, and encourages more illegal aliens to violate our borders and enter the United States illegally. Americans will have to pay increased taxes as a consequence of the burden amnesty would place on our school systems, welfare and social service systems, roads and transportation systems, the sprawl and environmental degradation, the health care system, Medicaid, Social Security, and other programs.

It is unfair to reward people who break our immigrations laws with immigration status, while many potential immigrants outside the United States are waiting to be admitted to the United States lawfully. If we allow the people who break the rules by entering the United States illegally to go to the front of the immigration line, it is a slap in the face to law-abiding immigrants.

And of course, we must be concerned that amnesty by any name, be it earned amnesty or legalization, jeopardizes our national security. Mahmud Abouhalima was granted amnesty in 1986... and was subsequently one of the terrorists that bombed the World Trade Center in 1993.

We MUST stop this now, while we can.

ACTION ITEM: According to Newsmax.com, Pres. Bush said his proposals, IF ENACTED BY CONGRESS, "would provide a more compassionate system for those who now live in the shadows of American society." We need to let Sec. Ridge, Pres. Bush, and our legislators know how we feel on this issue, BEFORE it's too late. Click "Go!" above to send a message to ALL of them at once!

NOTE: Sec. Ridge doesn't have a public email address, and our form isn't integrated with his department's form yet, so if you want to send your comments to him directly, you'll have to go to http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic/contactus.

No, I have a couple of them myself. I can imagine people buying cars to take home with them though.

You miss my point. If the person who reaped the lettus I buy at the store is paid more because American Labor compensation is higher that illegal, I pay a few more cents for the lettus. So I will pay to support Amarican workers. It is better to pay a few more cents for the lettus than to pay for that American to be unemployed while an illegal fills the job for a lot less than minimum wage.

Am I a conservative, maybe, maybe not. I am an American and I believe in putting America first. I do not vote for the party, I vote for the man. If things do not change, I intend to vote for a write-in for POTUS, and hope that there are some changes made in congress. "Living Wage" may be a liberal icon; what I ment was that employers need to offer a fair wage based on the value of the work done.

You are rage without cause... Your statements have no direction, no purpose. They convey nothing.

You argued for the criminality of border invaders through reference to so-called international law. "International law" is a fiction that is used to destroy America's sovereignty and serve other politically expedient goals held by those who invoke this phantasm. Without taking American sovereignty as one's starting point, any discussion of border invasion becomes either surreal, an exercise in rationalizing the destruction of America, or the expression of someone who has no idea what he's talking about. You are either very confused, opportunistic, or an utter moron. I'll let readers read your post #123 and my post #144, and decide for themselves.

NO!!!!

God, where do they grow you people???

Your assumption- and therefore your rage- are due to you NOT understanding what was said!!! You did not understand, you do not understand...

Why don't you just go away? Your misunderstanding has made you look like a fool, interjecting into the middle of a conversation you didn't bother to read, fully.

PFFFT.

You keep projecting your own rage on to me. (Just as earlier, you screamed about people who proceed from feelings, rather than reason.) I am not the one employing the largest typeface available, and pounding away with exclamation points, which is what people do who realize that their words can't get the job done. You screwed up. Get over it. Screaming at me won't help, and won't impress anyone else. Take your meds.

Message sent:
Enforce the immigration laws, and deport illegal aliens.
Start first with the ones who came into the country illegally.
Then deport the ones who came in legally but overstayed their visas. - Tom.

In other words, you wrote a typical newbie rant... Hence, I was kind to you, last time... You'll not get the same consideration again.
Now, get lost. I have little tolerance of fools.

Who cares who you will or will not tolerate. What a pompous bag of wind you are.

How many millions of illegal immigrants do you need before it becomes a big enough issue for you?

100 million camping out in my back yard. That would get me a bit teed off. Well if they keep it neatly trimmed I may go as high as 150 million but absolutely NO higher...well unless they throw in some good food and a car wash but no higher than 200 million cause I don't want to reward hardened criminals.

I LOVE your idea to send back articles to the various Republican requests for donations. However...most of these are outsourced to direct marketing firms who only care about the checks inside. Rarely are letters passed along but it's a creative try and I'll do the same.
One thing we all MUST do is to take action. If everyone at FR wrote to four congressman, there would be an impact. I believe we the people can stop this via Congress with a focused and serious effort. That is our only hope before the wave of welfare recipients climb over the fence again.

I HAVE SOLVED THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION PROBLEM!

Yes Tomas has done it and I think Im running for president so I will be able to implement DA SOLUTION.

Which is- (Drum roll here) ...Give everyone in the Whole Wide World American Citizenship.
Yes you read it right.

Look we already allow the whole world in here with our present open borders policy.
We already protect the borders of Europe, South Korea, Japan, Macedonia, Kosovo ..... .
We already are starting to give even the Terrorist at Guantanamo American legal defense.

So, if we are going to treat them all like American Citizens, lets make it official.

Just one small caveat. All social services and rights pertaining to citizenship will be withheld for 5 years. Yeah, you know like a probationary period. ( That ought to give the cops time enough to round up all these legions of Illegal Immigrant gangs in their innercity sanctuarys.)

It would also allow the government to sue all these companies who are outsourcing to cheap unsafe unecofriendly third world places - for employing all these citizens in such unsafe and poluted conditions.

And then after 5 years, well I would be impeached by then, and the Supremes could rule my edict yeah you know, unconstituional.

We aren't exporting our jobs to those places fast enough;

What do you mean by "our" jobs. Is a business not free to hire who they want where they want? The Business "owns" those jobs not those that fill them.

The should include the long standing "rolling amnesty" If you hide for 10 years, you can still apply for perminacy.

They should also investigate the special needs claim that is now used for "anchor babies". During one of the immigration reforms they did away with "anchor babies". Now, even though US citizens, the anchor baby has to go back with the illegals. So now the illegals claim the anchor baby has to stay due to some special need only aviable in the UsA. Usually some educational or medical need. (any number of doctors have regular relationships with immigration lawyers.)

It goes part and parcel with eliminating the service to customer BS that dominates INS (whatever their name is). They have to actually investigate petitions, they have to look at the documentation and scrutinize it. NO RUBBER STAMPS JUST BECAUSE the forms are all filled out.
