Tray Owen was a vivacious, fiesty bighearted woman--but one who was on a downward spiral as she struggled with addiction and a failed relationship, family members said.
As the 32 year-old house cleaner's personal life suffered, she distanced herself from her family, and some siblings said they hadn't seen her in years.
Her brother, David Owen, was the closest to her. He said yesterday that he last saw his sister about four weeks ago when he ran into her on Murfreesboro Pike. When he saw her, he said, he didn't realize she was in the late stages of pregnancy.
The next time he heard of his sister was Monday, after she was shot five times and killed early that morning on Plus Park Boulevard near Murfreesboro Pike near Interstate 24. Police said two men charged in her death told police they killed the woman because they thought they had hit her with her pickup truck and were afraid they would get in trouble.

Antonio DeJesus Idelfonso, 17, and Eliseo Marcelino Quintero, are charged in Tracy Owen's slaying and could face an additional charge in the killing of Owen's unborn child, detectives said.
The men told police they killed Owen because they thought they had hit her with their pickup truck and didn't want to get in trouble.
Marcelino-Quintero told police he bought the .22 caliber pistol used in the killing for $80 from a man on Thompson Place a few weeks before the shooting, Detective Marvin Rivera said yesterday.
The men worked odd jobs for subcontractors and were in the country illegaly, Rivera said.

I didn't get the book for Christmas.....you hear that, you leftist, lurking trolls...CHRISTMAS!.....so, I'd best get off my keester and get it!
Good summation, he has.

I feel the same way. I'm also very, very glad I have no children or grandchildren. Ditto. I saw this mess (among others) coming thirty years ago, and made a DELIBERATE decision not to bring children into the world. I do not regret that decision...not one bit.

Sure, GW & I, we just just a couple of illegal loving bleeding heart liberals. (/sarcasm)
Tell me, how is it better, if Bush does nothing -- the same illegals are already here and doing what they are doing anyway.
It's time to face reality. Nobody is going to ever deport the illegals who are already here. The only realistic solution is exactly what Bush is doing, to integrate the ones who are working and are productive members of the society, though came here illegally. AND of course strengthen the borders. The reason that Reagan's amnesty didn't work, was because the border wasn't secured, and more kept coming. But if you stop the flow, and get the ones here to work, pay taxes, over time, the illegal immigration problem will lessen or even be solved.
What do you propose to do about the illegal aliens already here? Start a Gestapo type house to house search for them?

http://www.borderlandnews.com/stories/borderland/20040112-67416.shtml More of some of the illegal types we have crossing around here. Obviously not all are vicious criminals --- but with the border as open as it is, we're obviously going to get plenty of criminals coming over.
Gang members jailed after robbing shop, police say
Daniel Borunda
El Paso Times
A gang of alleged burglars from Mexico made one repeat trip too many to a Downtown El Paso business a week ago when they ended up being caught in the act by police.
The arrest of the seven was welcome news to Simon Burciaga, general manager of Transportes Chihuahua, a transportation and shipping company at 222 Montestruc that has been burglarized nine times since October.
"I was tired. They were getting inside all the time," said Burciaga. " ... Thank God, they were caught."
The burglars stole clothes, electrical appliances and even six pairs of boots in repeat nighttime trips to the business. They would enter through a hole in the roof.
"I guess they figured it was a gold mine. They were going back to the business over and over," said Sgt. John Haddad of the investigations unit of Central Regional Command.
At about 10:40 p.m. Jan. 4, police were alerted to five men on the roof and two men inside the two-story building located near the Santa Fe Bridge.
"Some were wearing clothing taken on previous occasions," Haddad said.
The men arrested are alleged gang members from Anapra, Mexico, where they would take the stolen loot, detectives said. Each suspect was charged with nine counts of burglary.

Nobody is going to ever deport the illegals who are already here. They actually do deport some --- so obviously it's not impossible to deport them. They just need to deport all the welfare leeches, the criminals who are found presenting fraudulent document papers, any illegal committing other crimes like shoplifting, DWI, driving without insurance, skipping out on hospital bills, etc. There are ways to get the worst illegals out --- and they aren't even doing that.

Actually you just made my point -- they aren't even deporting the criminals, so how can anybody realistically expect that anyone would start deporting the illegals who work, mind their own business, have 2-3 children, who are US citizens?
The Dems are already comparing Bush to Hitler. Can you imagine what a couple of videos of some poor illegal Mexican family would do?
The only realistic solution is what Bush is doing.
To: FairOpinion
If they're collecting welfare, they should be easy enough to get rid of. If they're committing felony document fraud they should be easy to get rid of and permanently ban from legal reentry ever.
Question --- if a business breaks an IRS law---- is the government just throwing up it's arms in despair? If an employer negligently breaks an OSHA regulation does the government decide it's just too big a problem to fix? Why does breaking illegal employment laws --- which involve breaking minimum wage laws, overtime laws, tax laws and other laws get completely ignored but tax evasion, OSHA violations, sexual harassment, and many others never get ignored?

If this is true, then Bush should have bided his time and done absolutely nothing until after the Nov. election. Then he should have moved the military to the borders and after they shoot just a few illegals, the rest will get the picture. The civil libertarians could bitch and moan and the media could show all the sob-stories, but BY FAR the great majority of US citizens would cheer him for protecting our borders. If you can't get control of the border now, after 9-11, you just don't want to. And if he just doesn't want to, he is not fulfilling his oath to defend and protect this country and its Constitution.

You have been all over every illegal immigrant thread lately trashing everyone who is furious that GWB advanced his amnesty lite agenda.
I just thought you might like to catch up on this issue, since it seemed to escape you previously, as something many people have been very concerned about for along time.
Perhaps you might want to tone down your "vote for GWB, or you are a Dean supporter" schtick, if you read more than the Republican approved talking points propoganda.
Perhaps not.

What I still don't understand after hours of reading threads on illegal aliens is "WHAT is the PLAN"?

Nobody is going to ever deport the illegals who are already here.Maybe we should start. The Border Patrol had Lee Malvo in custody but the politicians let him go. GWB's plan will only encourage more people to come to this country illegaly when they should be trying to follow the rules and enter this country legally.
