Warning: This video is graphic!!!

I suppose that the military's infrared capabilities could be sensitive enough to pick out the body heat of a human and ignore anything outside that range. After all, infrared frequncy is directly proportional to the heat of the object. All that would be required is to build a good enough filter.

I agree wholeheartedly. It's not pleasant to watch, so it can't be pleasant to actually do it. But if they have the guts to do it, and if I say I support our military, then I ought to have the guts to actually look at what they do at least once in awhile, and not avert my eyes. I don't want to romanticize what our guys do. It's not all fancy uniforms and high-tech gadgets. Our military kills the enemy, and it's not a pretty sight. But I know why it's done, and I have the greatest respect for our people in the U.S. military.

Actually, the video is pretty standard quality infrared. Note the exhaust of the tractor is bright white, and the ground it just drove over shows IR contrast from the undisturbed ground around it.

Yeah, I noticed that but:
Why did 4 guys in the middle of the night with 2 trucks, one a big one at that decide to go fix the tractor?
One good mechanic with his old pickem up truck in daylight would be more logical.

IMO Those boogers were up to no good, and got what they deserved.

Re helicopter crew:
They know about the Blackhawk, with red crosses on the sides, that got shot down yesterday and they also know about all the sniping and roadside bombs their ground buddies are taking.
No wonder they dont show a hell of a lot of mercy.

Th range is bound to be waaay out there. The BG's don't even flinch when the Apache shoots without it's autorange on (apparently a computerized auto-elevation device). That means that the Apache missed by many yards. But just to play the devil's advocate, is it possible that a man with his head nesxt to a runnind tractor never even heard or saw his buddy get killed?

Not much farning going on at night in Iraq. Also after the first got smoked the second guy was working really hard and fast to unwrap whatever it was they were carrying.

Surface to air missile maybe ?

Maybe they should have stayed indoors at night and farmed when those pilots could see them better.

Some think this video is hard to watch.

I will try to watch this again every day I have to read about the death of a US soldier.

I'm just back from the American Historical Association conference at one of the finest hotesl in DC. That is to say, I really needed this video.

Spent the day dodging marxists, fools and history professors -- but I repeat myself -- whose fondest pursuit all day was signing anti-war petitions. Funny thing, though, I couldn't find a single petition that demanded that Al Queda cease and desist. I asked. All their forms read "Bush." Didn't see "Osama" or "Saddam" once. Pathetic fools.

I told one of the peace historians of Democrat Senator Ben Tillman of SC, who in 1911 wanted to cut funding for the Navy. On the Senate floor, he said in sarcasm:

"Let us build the greatest battleship in the world. We'll call it 'Terror.' It will bring peace on earth."

The irony is stupefying. Thanks, meanwhile, for this real view of peace in the making.

The enemy are not "bad guys" that deserve sympathy! They are cold hearted killers just the same as us American soldiers are. I've seen too many American corpses too express even an ounce of sympathy for a dead enemy soldier.

There is only two types of enemy soldiers that I wouldn't shoot, one that's already dead and one that has laid his rifle down and has his hands as high in the air as he can get them. If he lowers his belows his elbows below his skull, I'll kill him.

Cold hearted? Bet your ass I am. I've never wept over a dead gook but I have wept over too many dead Americans and I am still angry about it thirty years later.

Why are you using the word "poor"?

Have you ever been in combat on the receiving end? It'll change your attitude about sympathy for the 'poor' enemy.
