Let's go, people! (Don't you hate when people address you as "people"?)
Admin Mod: If you take this out of Front Page News, I'll stop my donations and write an opus. Just be glad I didn't put it in Breaking.
This FReepathon has gone on long enough. I bet three-quarters of all the people who click on this thread are freeloaders, er, uh, I mean people who have not donated yet.
You know you love FR. You know it is the best source of breaking news, interesting commentary, and camaraderie on the Internet.
So what are you waiting for? I know what you are thinking: you have a few bucks to give, but you want to stay anonymous. Here's a tip: they don't give a damn who you are, they just need a few of your dollars to pay for stuff to keep FR online.
Why not do what I do. I promised to pay $10 a month. Big deal, 10 bucks. Each month they email me a reminder, and I print it out and toss it in my pile of bills. Then while I am paying other bills, I write a check to FR for $10.
Now how easy is that? You could do it, and you know it. Ten bucks. Or five. Whoop-tee-do. You'll never miss it. And you'll feel damn good about it, too.
I am going to keep bumping this thread until the bar turns green and the fireworks come out. So click the damn link below and pay up, er, uh, I mean donate to FR.

There's an option, I believe, for montly donors, when you sign up to do so, to "keep your identifiable info private". I'm pretty sure JimRob doesn't even know who I am (my name), even though I have it sucked out of my checking account every month. They go through a 3rd party "collector", thus ensuring the privacy issue (as long as the 3rd party collector is as private as they say, which I think they are).

Why not do what I do. I promised to pay $10 a month. Big deal, 10 bucks ...To each his own.
I, in an attempt to be true to my own best intentions, must chart my own course. I cannot follow the herd simply because that is the path of least resistance. It's not as if I desire to shovel sand against the tide, mind you. It is just that I cannot be true to myself whilst merely parroting or blindly following what someone else has done.
I am sure that what you have done is worthy of due consideration. It is not as if I am saying that you are wrong. I'm not. You have to do what you feel is best for you. And, believe me, I appreciate the suggestion for a course of action. It has made me aware of the varied possibilities, the many ways that one may behave when presented with a particular dynamic. Nonetheless, your suggestion is simply not one that best suits my needs at this time.
Therefore, I pledge $50 / quarter. Every quarter.

I was serious about trying to be the last one to donate that puts FR over. The End is here. Was that you who put us over the top?

I personally find these quarterly mendications as irritating as a sore tooth.
Yes, but much better than NPR pledge drives.
