One Reporter's Opinion -- We're Giving Away the Whole Enchilada!

It is this reporter's opinion that George W. Bush's so-called immigration reform plan is a one-way street. In his attempt to win a few Latino votes, he's giving away the store.
Little did I think that a conservative Republican would lead the charge on temporary-worker programs, green cards, visas, leading to amnesty on the installment plan and eventually citizenship. Bush is telling the world it's okay to sneak across our borders, manage to stay here for three years, renew your stay after three years, and you're home free.

Bush, with his offer to give jobs to any foreigner who is guaranteed a job once he arrives on our shores, is also telling the world that all the goodies that benefit legal citizens await those who violate our sovereignty. Come and get it! The door prize awaits you!

Is it any wonder that 34 percent of the illegals are on welfare? And 25 percent are behind our prison walls?

Bush's temporary-worker program would have no limit on the number of immigrant workers who could participate. Oh, he says jobs would be offered to American workers first, but workers from overseas or across the border could bring their families if they show they could support them.

The agriculture, hospitality and construction sectors are expected to be the main employers and Bush says workers who want to come to the U.S. would need to prove that they have a job waiting for them. The initial temporary-work visa would be good for three years and could be renewed. Once accepted as temporary workers, illegals could apply for green cards.

This reporter can only conclude that Bush is more interested in making a political play for the Latino vote during an election year than he is in changing policy for the good of America. Call it what you will, this is sheer amnesty! The Bush plan is a one-way street; all benefits go to Mexican President Vicente Fox and we'll be picking up the tab to the tune of $20 billion each and every year to cover the illegals.

We saw it coming when Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge called for some form of legal status for the illegals in this country. We saw it coming when Bush sought to insure that so-called "guest workers" that pay into Social Security are able to collect benefits after they return home. But who are they kidding? Let's face it: The United States of America is providing Mexico with the world's largest welfare system!

President Bush took an oath of office to protect the sovereignty of the USA. Yet day by day, inch by inch, he now appears to be giving it away. Within days Bush will be meeting with Mexico's Vicente Fox. Let's hope he doesn't give away the whole enchilada. Lest we forget, it all comes down to a question of what's legal or illegal, and these illegal aliens broke our laws.

Bush is NOT a Conservative anything. He's a CINO Liberal who supports an ever expanding Federal Government and ever shrinking reduction in our Liberty.

If you had a brain in your head you would have realized from moment one that Bush is no conservative Republican.

I can't believe so many people have forgotten a basic fact that I learned in elementary school...the President does not make law, Congress does! Bush's plan will be in the cross-cut shredder the minute it hits Congress. There are currently two bills being considered, one in the Senate and one in the House:

House Version Sponsored by Tom Tancredo of CO

Senate Version Sponsored by John Cornyn of TX

Tancredo's plan puts the military on the border until we can train enough border patrol, increases the border patrol and detention centers, ends the "anchor child" problem, increases penalties and bonds and much more. We need to forget about Bush's plan and get on the Tancredo bandwagon by writing our Congress-critters!

Hell is dad is supposed to be a conservative and is a WWII veteran and he pushed the "New World Order" down our throats. This current emperor too now has no cloths. US politician and US patriot is for the most part not compatible.

I didn't want to disparage Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo or Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.

Ping!

I saw we follow Vermont's lead!

Vermont town wants to secede
Burdensome taxes have officials looking to New Hampshire

"We're very serious," said Norman Holcomb, chairman of the town's Select Board. "It's not just an effort to make a statement. It's an effort to save our community."

"In his attempt to win a few Latino votes, he's giving away the store.".. it is so so much deeper than the Latino vote.. and Bush is giving more away than the store.. To say I am deeply concerned is very much an understatement.

Hey J.P., I heard on a local radio station ( KMOX ) here in St. Louis, that one of the republicans in the Illinois primary has come out against Bush's proposal on granting legal status to illegal aliens. I can't remember which guy it was but it sounds to me that he might try to make it an issue in the primary. Let me know if you find out who it is and I'll talk to some of the guys I work with that live in Ill. and inform them about this guy. If I hear anymore, I'll let you know.

I honestly wondered what it was going to take to enrage Americans into wakefulness, get them to start speaking up, when no outrage was shown when Bush tried to slip 245i past citizens not once but twice.

Obviously it takes him suggesting that we give them the farm. About time.
