I was so upset about having to leave Virginia when my husband got stationed in North Carolina, I made him promise that, after he got out of the Army, I could decide where we lived for the rest of our lives....and I will hold him to it!
Of course, that means we're going to be spending our entire lives after he leaves in Virginia.....

Had a family in our community that named their children after states: Montana, Virginia, Georgia.
Then there was the family who named their children: Liberty, Freedom, Justice and the baby's middle name was "FURALL"

doesn't count? doesn't count?????????
And it was 108 miles to be exact. I can get to the Delaware line in about an hour - but we came from Dover.
Thanks for the welcome - we absolutely love living here.
Delaware can claim all it wants about tax-free shopping. But that's only because there is no consumer-at the register-sales tax. The tax is there and built into the prices, because the business is so highly taxed of gross receipts. The out of state shopper, thinking to save a few bucks, is probably spending a heck of a lot more on stuff than they would have if they bought at home. And that is not taking into consideration time and gas.
I won't even get into the difference in school districts - I have nothing but praise for the Accomac County school district. Public schools in Delaware (forgive me mods) suck.

Where in Virginia are you planning to live?
My husband is looking forward to spending time in the Shenandoah area this summer. He's much more of the outdoorsy type than I am, but I want to see it as well.
I love the fact that while we don't live ON the water, we are only 15 miles (give or take) from both the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay.

Jax' middle name doesn't come from the state, but a family name on my husband's side. His favorite aunt.
I'm not sure I would want to have a name like Justice Furall - I love the concept, but not as a name. Having been saddled with a totaly out of place name, I swore I would not do the same to a child of mine.

I grew up in Richmond, and my husband and I both have our entire families there, so it would be nice to move back to that area. Richmond has its problems, but it has so much history, and it's reasonably close to both the coast and the mountains.
But I could live closer to DC as well, since there are some really good hospitals there....I enter med school next year.....so my being able to move back to VA depends on whether I can match for my residency at a good hospital there.
