[history]
Democratic front-runner Howard Dean said Wednesday that his decision as governor to sign the bill legalizing civil unions for gays in Vermont was influenced by his Christian views, as he waded deeper into the growing political, religious and cultural debate over homosexuality and the Bible's view of it.

Howie's reading of the Bible isn't the same as that of most people. Its progressive in a way God and the biblical writers never imagined.

I don't think this is a new tactic, but for some reason I've been seeing it a lot: whenever someone objects to something on the basis of their Christianity, throw their Christianity back in their face.
That's why, while I use my Christianity to dictate my own behavior, I don't use it to dictate the behavior of others. No, in the world of politics, I don't have to go so far as to get to the personal, core principles. In politics, I want to be purely practical--what will work best?
It's better, in choosing a politician to back, to try to be as calculating as the politicians themselves are, when they choose groups to whom they decide to appeal.
But unfortunately most of us are just amateurs, compared to politicians, when it comes to being calculating.
I am sick of seeing homosexual activists throw people's Christianity in their faces, or try to out-Christian objecting Christians. The truth is, they are operating under one principle: the principle of ME ME ME. I don't think it is an abandonment of Christianity to throw this back in their faces, and out-"ME" them when it comes to politics. Let 'em have it.

"From a religious point of view, if God had thought homosexuality is a sin, he would not have created gay people."Is Dean on drugs?
Quite honestly, this man seems to have a severe mental disability.

Someone should ask Dean why America should arrest child molestors. After all, God MADE THEM, so obviously, child molesting is ok by Him....

Mind numbing, isn't it?
I sure will enjoy meeting God, when this tour is over.
What a sense of humor!

If God was against idiotic comments, he wouldn't have made Howard Dean.

LOL! Good point!
Some good stuff on Dean is circulating. Here's one I like a lot:

It may just be me, but I smell a reverse of momentum for Dean.
I can't see any of the current "legitimate" [?] dems getting it.
That leaves Hillary to attempt resuscitate the democratic corpus delicti.
My dream is that she runs, and the defeat the dems receive will end the Clintons, and their ilks hold on any power in this country.
