If it's not artificial, it certainly looks like a hydraulic process could have caused it. I've been reading where there's a possibility that the 'mud flats' caused by the lander's air bags may be just that - there could be water in the form of a brine on (or just below) the surface that wouldn't freeze at the normal freshwater threshold. Of course, NASA is also saying that they can't use the rover to investigate the flats because of the proximity to the lander, which does sound kinda fishy. Hey, I don't wear a tinfoil hat, but I don't discount the possibility of NASA being up to something, either.

I read last night, (while searching for info to figure out which rocks are the named ones), that NASA might spin each of the rovers wheels, one at a time, to dig down into the soil so that they can get pictures with the microscopic imager of the soil below the surface. This might lend clues to the mysterious "magic carpet" effect.

I just thought, I hope they don't do it with all of the wheels. Spinning all of the wheels to dig down seems like a good way to get the rover stuck. =)

I guess. That doesn't seem to be correct either, nothing on as yet.

That shore does look like one of them there purty cabins that Bob Ross paints.Yeah, and it'd only take him three brush strokes to do it.

I wish I knew which rock is "Adirondack" =) New pictures are available at the MER homepage, but it was a crappy selection today. No new pictures of "Rectangle Hole Rock". I am going crazy over here. I waited all day for this update.

Well, for kids it might have been good but I sure was hopeing for some more discussion of the geology, (pictures of "Adirondack", why they chose it etc.,speculation on craters, etc.
Just not enough.
I feel like I'm drowning, just getting enough air to stay afloat.
I thought the internet was supposed to open this stuff up.
E gods, if I had to rely on the news papers and tv for info
I'd be dead.

I thought the internet was supposed to open this stuff up. It would if the true experts would pay more attention to the Internet. But the masses seem to have control of the medium and rule by sheer numbers. Democracy in action.

Yeah, lol, I was disapointed too. It would have been great if I were like 14. I am going to do an update here shortly. I think I have at least one of the rocks with names pinned down. I'll ping you when I finish if you want.
