"To explore strange new worlds" is the mission of the Enterprise, not a passage from our constitution. Wa'al, it's not in our Constitution to develop antibiotics and vaccines, either....

B&W Photo released today on the Mars Rover Homepage showing the same rock. This is a different photo than the color one, and was taken by the NAV-CAM. No email from NASA yet.</CENTER>

Looks like a logcabin now more than ever. Maybe that's where Yacub stays when the NOI mothership gets out of earth orbit.

Oh great! Zillions of taxpayer dollars spent to go to Mars and we land on the outskirts of Bedrock!Well, look on the bright side, maybe it will send back some of those giant bronto ribs that can tip your car over.

Almost looks like a megacrystic metamorphic rock. Could explain the rectangular hole on the side. Crystal falling out a long time ago maybe and then sand blasting could have enlarged it? Who knows? Any geologists on the forum? You mean your not a geologist and still knew about megacrystic metamorphic rock? I need to go back to school...

NASA should hire Hoagland as PR agent and put him to productive work.

I am more interested in the larger rock to the left. Looks like moss on top of it.
Hey! Wait a minute! Are you a NASA plant trying to distract our attention away from the fact that moss grows on Mars with this supposed "artifact"?

You are suggesting it is probably just a shadow then......
Yes. Enlarged and brightened, the rectangular shape is a shadow of a protrusion from the rock face. Notice also the light source and the primary shadoe on the ground.
IMHO

"I actually counted the "nuhs" in your tagline to check for accuracy."I actually did that too the other day except it was pretty hard to do and I was never sure if I just said one "nuh" or two "nuh"s so I had to keep going back but in the end, I think I concluded that he did, indeed, have the correct amount of "nuh"s. It's not quite as easy as counting the "tra la la"s in the Banana Splits song, I can tell you that!
Right now, it's still early yet, but I think he's got my vote for tagline of the year.
