Email/Letter writing campaign against The President's plan for immigration
Myself

Has anybody started an email/letter writing campaign in response to the president's proposed immigration initiative?
We need to show the president that he can't take advantage of his conservative base.

Will your voice be heard by the White House?

Luis...I am sorry I didn't ping you sooner. Let's hope that this leads to better things for all people yearning to make a better life and in a sensible way.

But even it were, it is not a win-win for the country and for preserving the nation's ethnic balance. Just what 'ethnic balance' should we preserve, and explain why that particular ratio is the ideal?

That's okay...just sing to yourself in the corner there.

Sorry Nathan, I can't agree with you. Crossing illegally is a violation of law and those who hire illegals under the table are comitting a felony.
I am no stranger to poverty--been there/done that and never took a dime from the government. NOPE. I worked nights at a Dunkin Donuts for $1.50 an hour plus tips (mid 70's) because I couldn't afford day care for my son. So I stayed home during the day, kept a decent house (that I owned) and worked nights to pay for groceries.
I did what I had to do for my family and I broke no laws, took no handouts and stole from no one.
My great grandparents came here legally.
The Mexican Gov't needs to do something about THEIR poverty problem instead of exporting it to our doorstep.
The coyote situation is Vicente Fox's problem...not ours..those are HIS people dying in poorly ventilated transports. He doesn't care does he?

If nothing else, at least there will be an organized effort at starting to solve this problem.

First. YOU SEAL THE BORDER to stop this massive migration, north and south!! Once that has been established, you proceed to document the illegals that are already here. The ones that can work and be productive, can stay and apply for citizenship. If they do not apply for citizenship, they go home. Any others that are deemed to be dangerous or criminals , or lazy a** leech`s, also go home. After all the illegals currently in this country are under control, you run a strict immigration progam which can be regulated to meet the needs of the US infrastructure. I think this would be a good start. It would take many years, but at least our borders would be secure. The problem with Pre. Bush`s plan is it does nothing to maintain our borders !! And that is a huge issue with me.

This is a pretty bold step to a painful problem. Reagan thought amnesty might help but we see the results of that.
This at least is a start at putting a system in place...as you say.
I have to applaud the President for taking this step and I encourage everyone to let the White House know that those angry and hate filled e-mails they are receiving don't speak for us.
Some people have been complaining about illegal immigrants for years. Now that someone is actually taking steps to do something about it, realistically, it doesn't met their desires. So they will simply sit on the sidelines, complain and be irrelevent to the process.

Hey.. Voice your opinion that you are against what ever he is proposing. I am not blindly taking this "Proposal" fully yet. As you might know, a president proposes and a congress legislates or something to that effect.
And it is not like he has brought in the 10 million illegals who are living in this country. Everyone is making it sound like he personally escorted them in here. He is trying to do something about it and thats what we need to look at and voice our approval/disapproval at the various points that this "proposed" legislation would contain...

Okay. They will no longer be "undocumented," meaning we know who they are and where they are.
Employers will have the right/obligation to ask for their "documents" and to see that they're subsumed into the economy where they'll ALSO have to pay taxes, etc.
Sorry. That was two. I'll shut up now....

If you were to actually read the platform of the LP, you would know that they call for full, open, and unfettered immigration by any and all people.
Well, I guess I am really screwed now. I have a vote and nobody worthy to cast it for.

RE:
"...after seeing child rapists and other criminals not being prosecuted I think it's understandable."
I've heard about that - a woman called in to the Howie CARR show today and related as to how her Son got molested by an II, and the court essentially turned him loose, after US Taxpayers paid for his Lawyer and Interpreter (Although he spoke fine English while he molested the child, he seems to have forgotten it by the time the trial came up).
What's it going to take to protect American Citizens from being routinely victimized with impunity by these thugs?
A Couple of perps turning up behind the dumpster with two in the sombrero and maggots crawling out their ears?
What used to pass for "Law" and "Justice" are crumbling before our eyes, and the options in some areas seem to be getting down to anarchy or "Law of the Jungle".
We hear that some "immigrant" advocacy groups want "undocumented workers" to have the "right" to carry guns - and they well might get it, while English-speaking American Citizens are required to register their weapons, and in many areas routinely denied carry permits.
What's next; confiscate personal firearms from Citizens and issue them to the "undocumented" among us?
The way it's going, I would not be surprised if they at least try it. It will be interesting to see how that goes over in the Carolinas, Georgia, and Alabama.
I think the President we had such high hopes for just surrendered us to Mexico.
Better brush up on the ol' Espagnol', Amigos; by this time next year getting caught speaking English could get us thrown in the Hoosegow.

"Okay, here's the Championship play let's keep it simple: Lattrell, you take the inbound with 8 seconds left, beat Kobe off the dribble full court, drive down the lane and dunk it over Shaq at the buzzer for the win!"

Please don't shut up too soon.
If you have convictions on this issue please let the White House know what they are. Over the next few days the White House is going to be bombarded with angry e-mail. It helps when they receive communications from people who either express their support, or address concerns without political threats.
To: Peace will be here soon
2000 plus miles I think is what it is on the south. How do you seal a porous border like that? Put up electric fences???
"Document the illegals that are here"
That is what the current proposal is doing. NOT give them amnesty but documenting them in effect (putting them on guest visa programs) is documenting.
"Dangerous or crimanals go home".
If I am not mistaken, we already do that. But I think this has to be enforced more at the state level. When you have liberal judges that enforce lenient sentences on illegal aliens and crimanls, that let them off with barely anything, it is up to us to elect more conservative judges who will enforce CURRENT Laws.
"Run a strict Immigration program".
That sounds fine but what does that exactly mean? INS is responsible for enforcing immigration and arent they trying to send back thousands of illegals who try to come here. MAybe we should move some of the TSA guys to border patrol..:)
"The problem with Pres Bush's plan is it does nothing to main our borders"
As Bush himself said, congress has to write the legislation for this and I am sure that a border protection plan would be fine with me and all conservatives who support the fact that Prez Bush is doing something to address this huge problem.
To: Uncle Jaque
SO there were rules in place to get the asshole out of the country but he was let go by the courts, probably run by liberals and probalby had the ACLU take up his case. Blame them not Bush for this...
To: Remember_Salamis
Well guy, I wish I could stay around longer but I must be off. But thanks for starting this thread. By your diligent efforts the White House will be hearing from the people...and that's important.
