35 U.S. soldiers wounded in mortar attack

The Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Thirty-five U.S. soldiers were wounded Wednesday in a mortar attack on a U.S. base west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

Six mortar rounds exploded about 6:45 p.m. at Logistical Base Seitz, the military said in a statement. The wounded soldiers were from the 3rd Corps Support Command.

"The wounded soldiers were given first-aid and have been evacuated from the site for further medical treatment," the statement said.

In Washington, Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. James Cassella said some of the wounded soldiers returned to duty shortly after the attack, while others were hospitalized. He said he did not have figures on how many troops were lightly injured and how many were seriously wounded.

We could use some prayers over here. ohio's son, Eric, is right THERE....

Father God, we all come before you now, asking for extra protection for Eric. Please put your guardian angels around him, please Lord, will YOU put your arms around him and protect him? We pray that you give Ohio and her family the peace that passes all understanding until they hear that sweet voice on the phone. Lord, I pray for all of the men and women who are in harm's way. Please, Father, keep them safe too and calm their families.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen

it all depends on how bad....minor injuries they probably wouldn't contact you....they usually inform the unit at home...that's who would notify you....call them and see if they have heard!!
