Elections are all about the middle. Everyone knows that. It looks as though Rove and company think the middle is to the left, and it looks like Liberman and company think the middle is to the right.

I think that JL is beginning to look like the Dems only chance to have a consolidated vote large enough to beat Bush.

The work product they produce and the taxes they pay will in no way help "defray" the expenses they run up nor stem the problem from growing larger. Again, ... the reason is they do not earn enough, they do not produce enough. Their capabilities are limited to sending dollars back to Mexico that are used to make ready the next batch of illegal border crossers. Why? Because their leaders order them to do so. Why? Because there is political power in numbers.

Most people have no problem understanding what was just said. You are either mentally challenged or too stubborn to be educated or you are in the camp of the saints.

I, like you, am weary of always having to hold my nose. I've tolerated an awful lot from GWB, for the greater good, especially the war on terrorism. But this immigration policy is madness. I'm afraid Bush's legacy will be:

Iron Eagle has some very good suggestions. As many on this thread have stated, Bush's plan is a "proposal." He is "proposing" a plan that still needs to be debated. I tried on one of my earlier threads to get some suggestions going also -- instead of just griping on this thread, we seriously need to come up with suggestions that might actually work.

And I disagree with you that the Bush solution appears to be capitulation and appeasement. It is middle of the road, which is why many like you hate it so much.

3) illegal parents of legal children cannot stay. Parents go -- children will follow.

4) No driver's licenses for illegals

5) Firms/individuals hiring illegals face mandatory 5 years prison, permanent revocation of all professional licenses and right to conduct business or form or be a part of a corporate entity.

6) $500 per illegal tax credit. (No maximum. You report 100 illegal aliens, you have lifetime tax credit of $50,000

7) Deputize state and local officials to arrest and hold illegals.

Impressive. Logical. Makes sense. Too bad quite a few folks can't see the logic of your proposals. It certainly sounds like W didn't.
