It is amazing that Bush might really intend to raid the fragile Social Security program and reward those who would have committed felony document fraud or at least claim they did. There will be no proof needed and you can bet millions will claim to have worked using a SS number they never used. Even Bush's supporters admit he would be doing this to buy some votes. He must be very desperate to win the election if he had to go this far.

Another home run from Michelle Malkin!

Unfortunately, it's just ink on a page (or electrons on a screen.) Her, and those with similar concerns, will be ignored by the powers that be. Unless somehow conservatives can find some way to quickly mobilize and make their voices heard - and it doesn't look like that will happen.

The bureaucrats call this scheme "totalization." Try total prostration.

Well said.

Here is the text of the email I sent to the White House this morning:

Dear President Bush,

My parents came here LEGALLY over 30 years ago. They just started receiving Social Security a few years ago after working since they immigrated. Please do not give Social Security benefits to illegal aliens. It is a slap in the face to us legal immigrants who did things by the rules and who waited patiently to immigrate to this country and 5 years more to become citizens.

I am a Catholic Filipino married to a Hispanic (Mexican - American born in the US) who has supported you in the past. We are both Republicans. I am a relatively new Republican. I was set to volunteer for your re-election campaign this year. I don't know if I will anymore.

Sincerely,
.....

Bump. A sad day for conservatives. All that hard work--and our soldiers in Iraq will return to an America that belongs more to Vicente Fox than to their fellow citizens.

IMHO, Bush made two major mistakes since he took office; first the CFR and now this.

I wonder if the good decisions he made would outweigh the bad.

According to Rep. Clay Shaw, R-Fla., chairman of the House Ways and Means subcommittee on Social Security, benefits paid to retirees will exceed revenues in just 15 years. The pay-as-you-go system could go belly up as early as 2030.

Bump.

She was allowed to wait until her son was 8 years old? I thought you had to get a Social Security number for the kid before you popped it out to declare it as a dependent on your taxes.

Total prostitution. Its nice to see how Jorge W. Bush and his good friend Vicente Fox want to spend our tax dollars. Give Mexicans Social Security. Where's the quid pro quo? Talk about highway robbery.

" These projections don't take into account the economic impact of the Bush proposal, which would allow untold millions of illegal aliens from Mexico to collect full cash benefits for themselves and their families from their home country -- without having to work the required number of years that law-abiding American citizens must work to be eligible for payouts."
