I have to assume that Presidente Fox actually has pictures of Bush at his last coke party.

That's about the only thing that could explain this.

"The real goal here is to keep the Hispanics in check.
"

Huh? Perhaps you're just typing quickly. It's not Hispanics that are the problem. It is the illegal aliens. My next door neighbor is named Dominguez. He has voted Republican for years. His ancestors came to this state before it was a state and several generations have been native born citizens.

Think before you write. Hispanics are not the problem. Illegal immigrants are.

I will not waste one dollar or one minute trying to get him re-elected, nor any of the sell-out GOP congressmen around here.

The Mrs. and I decided to sit out the next election when W paid the Communist Chinese ransom for the return of our recon plane and crew instead of making his business supporters hurt through sanctions. He's done nothing since then to change our minds we're doing the right thing.
Problem is, the Electoral College chooses the president, not the voters, so it's all a green-pill diversion anyway. W has been chosen by the system; the system is what has to be changed.

Look, anyone who doesn't vote for the President this November is a fool with treasonous tendencies. A vote for any candidate other than Bush is, in essense, a vote for the Democrats. Failing to show up and vote for the Bush is, after a fashion a vote for the Democrats. A vote for a Democrat is treason, hence failing to vote for Bush is treason.

You might not like that fact, but you will accept it, or you will accept the fact that, for the sake of ideological purity, you are willing to give courage to the enemy in a time of war.

You want to know the difference between Bush and a Democrat? Listen in to al-Qaeda chatter the day after the election in worlds where Bush is re-elected and a world where Howard Dean wins. A failure to vote for Bush is a vote for the terrorists.

"...AND a 8 million new citizens."

They may reside here, but they sure as hell won't be "citizens".

Between the education bill, campaign finance reform, the drug benefit giveaway and now this he has about lost me. The cherry on the top will be if he signs even a waterered down assault weapons ban next year.

Battered conservative syndrome...I need some Tylenol

LOL!

I dont think President Bush understands how this is going over with his constituants - or maybe we dont understand??

Might as well have Howard Dean for President if Bush keeps up his "kissing cousin" relationship with Mexico - especially since Mexico will not help with war on terror.

I think we need a Mexican/Mexico product boycott - do they sell us anything we wont buy?

"Look, in the short-term we need to take some of the Democrats issues in order to win. "

I've heard that. Trouble is that it looks more and more like the Bush Republicans are not just taking some of the Dem's issues. It looks like they're thinking and acting just like Democrats. Someone up in this thread said that this would be OK if Congress didn't pass it. What do you think the odds of that are? My guess is that they'll pass it easily. After all, Bush wants it. Why should they vote against it.

You're right.

They have depressed wages to the point where the jobs that USED to be desirable no longer are. It's not that Americans don't WANT to work construction, it's that they can't afford to.

The 20 million or so illegals aren't all here picking lettuce. A lot unemployed and hanging out in front of Home Depot or the Equiment Rental places looking for a day job.
A lot more of them are in semi skilled and skilled occupations as well.

In LA it used to be kids that worked fast food and car washes. These were starter jobs that had high attrition rates and no end to applicants to fill the spots when the kids moved on. No more. You NEED to speak spanish to work fast food or you won't understand your supervisor. I know I can't always understand them when I pull through drive-thru.

Construction used to be a good job in California. If you worked constructioin you had a house, a dirt bike and maybe a bass boat. Illegals have depressed wages to where the only people who want to work construction are illegals or "recent arrivals" who don't mind working for $10 - $12 and hour and living 6 to a 2 room apartment. This goes for roofing, masonry, framing, finishing, the whole thing.

Same thing with auto mechanics. A guy could make a good living as a mech. Not so now.

The list is long and growing.

It's been estimated that one fifth of all warm bodies in my home state of North Carolina is from Mexico or El Salvador. Every one, even the decent individuals, are a reminder that the suits in Washington (including Saint W) do not have my best interests in mind.
...only one reason I'm a Southern Nationalist--the U.S. is being destroyed by its elites and the brainless who believe them.

My primary reason for voting for Bush at this point would be to keep a Democrat out. But, the way he is proceeding on this issue and immigration are taxing my conscience beyond the point where I could vote for him and still sleep at night.

Please tell me how on this issue, we could do any worse with a Democrat. At least the Republican Congress would stop a dim.

When I write-in Tancredo or vote 3rd party he'll realize I think naught of his arrogant presumption.

Hispanics are not the problem. Mrs. Warchild is a naturalized citizen from Cuba who FOLLOWED THE RULES.
The exploitation of millions of camposinos by U.S. businessmen is the problem.

Look, first of all, Free Republic is not America. Free Republic is not even the mainstream of the Republican Party. I like Free Republic and so do you- but this must be remembered in any discussion. Are you really so foolish as to believe that things would be better with Howard Dean in the White House? They'd only be better in the sense that you all here would get to play opposition again and, as we all know (or should know) playing oppostion is a hell of a lot more fun then being elected. After all, after you get elected, you have to govern.

George W. Bush is the President of the United States, not of Free Republic. He has to appeal to the whole country. If you believe that a "put troops on the border" policy will sell at election time, then you're as deluded as the people on Democratic Underground who think that Dennis Kusinich can win the election because he'll motivate people who haven't voted before.

Knock it off. It is ludicrous to be saying crap like, "...failing to vote for Bush is treason." What? Are you going to throw people in jail because they didn't vote for Bush!? Get a grip and debate rationally or go away!

In theory, it works.

Problem is, in praxis, it is destined to abject failure. We have tried and tried and tried for years with this approach, only to be defeated on important issues by our own GOP, many of them moderates and appeasers and in firm control. At least if you have been around as long as I and many others, it gets old after a while. Really. Very old.

Think about it. Who amongst us truly likes to be taken for granted and treated as a sap? That their vote, a sacred trust, is quite frankly regarded by certain machiavellian GOP pinstripes in the West Wing or Old Executive Office Building with a kind of mindset and snotty attitude akin to "Well, boss, even with all the pissing and moaning out there, why they'll still have to shut up and vote for us in November what with the alternative. Where do they have to go?"

Here is someone just plain TIRED of being treated that way by certain GOP who gain office.

Things change.

They MUST, for conservatives and patriots.

Now WE, the base, issue ORDERS to THEM for a change.
