Too funny.
BWAHAAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAHAHAHAAAHAAAAA
The question I have is: Will the news be drastic enough to force the muscles in Nancy Pelosi's botox paralyzed face to assume any other expression than the one that barney frank is reported to have when he attends a Winnie roast? What d'yall think? ;)
Daschel will be "deeply disappointed" (only because Texas dems have now have no place to run.)

Down in Texas, they will be firing up the barbeques and drinking long neck Lone Star.

But he took it when Bush went to white white house and wasnt actually elected as Gov, right? Perry took office at the end of 2000, and finished Bush's second term. Perry won election on his own in 2002, and would be up for reelection in 2006

I don't know how that will shake out now. They have been filing but under the old plan.... Now they have until Jan. 11, I think, to refile under the new district lines/plan.
Look at the following link in a few days and you'll see the filings reported for the new plan.

We know it is rough and tumble politics, and we are ever mindful that the judiciary must call the fouls without participating in the game.
Good, they know there places.

Hot damn! I might just have to move back there!
('Course, my old district -- the 7th, west Houston -- was safely Republican anyway.)

I'm toying with adding www.firegregdavis.com and/or www.stevespurrierisNOTtheanswer.com.
But really, I guess the offense was ok this year, the real bonehead decisions were Mack's. But there still seems to be a serious lack of discipline problem that shows up in big games. Mack now says the Holiday Bowl loss was because the team was so let down on missing out on the BCS. Always an excuse from Mack.
Write it down, unless Mack beats OU, wins the conference championship, or WINS a BCS bowl, he will be canned next year. Probably couldn't do it this year, the risk was too much of ending up with a Nebraska situation. But I betcha dollars to donuts Dodds(UT AD) has been quietly conducting a search since the OU loss, in preparation for a firing next year. They'll have their man lined up before the ax falls, but it will fall. Mack just doesn't seem capable of adapting his coaching style or delegating to COMPETENT coordinators, and recruiting is starting to head downhill. I'm not sure that even the perfect hire of a defensive coordinator can save Mack's job.
OBTW, the www.firemackbrown.com website has been updated, and is hilarious.

You can say that he was elected governor in 1998. By then, everyone knew that Gov. Bush was going to run for president and that the lieutenant gov. would be the (at that time) interim governor.

Great news. Now we will no longer have to worry about runaway federal spending, onerous regulation, ponzi-scheme medicare plans, and other unconstitutional bills being passed.

The funny thing is that I heard on KLBJ that Mack wasn't even considering a change in the staff. I mean, WTF, four straight years of being beaten badly by OU, and he wasn't going to give the heave-ho to anyone? His only hope is to finally beat OU.

So let me get this straight... The Pubbies hold every statewide office and the majorities in the Texas House and Senate, and yet the Democrats were insisting that there was nothing wrong with the current districts that gave them a majority of the US House seats with a 17-15 advantage... That pretty much sums it up. I'm am SOOOOOOO looking forward to getting out of Nick Lampson's (formerly Jack Brook's) district. Nick should be hitin' the unemployment line about this time next year.
