Whatever Happened to the G.I. Traitor/Bomber in the Iraq War?
Self/question | 1/6/04 | LS

Posted on 01/06/2004 10:01:02 AM PST by LS

I have not seen any news in months about the (I think, Muslim) U.S. soldier who killed several comrades at a Kuwaiti base by rolling a grenade inside the tent.

While we have updates on Malvo and Muhammad and Riady and Padilla, this guy seems to have slipped into the background, yet his action was as despicable as those of any of the others.

Does anyone have any new information? I don't even recall his name.

Probably in a hoolding pattern in some brig until his viperine attorneys succeed in getting a Federal court to state he was discrminated against or something becuase he was a Muslim.

I think he is still being held at Fort Knox.

I found this in another story, below, but it still doesn't answer my question about the status of his case:

"What's the U.S. military doing about radical Muslim soldiers? Not enough."

By Deanne Stillman

The most disturbing story of the war so far is the fragging at Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait. According to news reports, on March 23, Sgt. Asan Akbar rolled a grenade into each of three tents of sleeping officers and senior NCOs of the 101st Airborne Division. Then he allegedly shot the soldiers with an automatic weapon as they fled from their tents. Two of them, a major and a captain, died, and 14 others were injured.

Here is an important snip from the article you reference:
During the war in Iraq, soldiers from the 101st fought their way through the northern portion of the country, but they also did much more. The soldiers helped reopen schools and set up health clinics. And they helped Iraqi civilians in many other ways as well.

"If you were in this uniform, and you were wearing this patch, it wasn't unusual for someone to bring you something to fix before they'd take it to someone who was qualified," [Army Spc. Timothy] Turman [ Jr., an infantry soldier with the 101st Airborne Division] said. "That's just the way it is. A lot of the people really looked up to us."

I think the Administration is deliberately keeping this case, the Guantanamo Bay detainees and the Iraqi prisoners in limbo until just around the time of the election. Then, if Bush plays it right, all the garbage these Islamofascists have done can be brought to the public's attention, along with his accomplishments in dealing with them.

That will finally kill any chances the Dems have of beating Bush.

Interesting . . . but it still doesn't say what is being done with this guy. Shouldn't he have been tried already?

SHALOM!

This So- Called...MUSLIM Islamist was NOT always a Muslim.

He was Born and raised in America, if my memory serves me right, this CRIMINAL/MURDERING Islamist converted to the Demonic Cult of the moon god, and then changed his name to reflect his "New" religion.

I Hope and Pray that the US Court Martial Judges find this COWARD GUILTY and proceed to Hang him by the neck or take him out back and put a US made Bullet through his ISLAMA - NAZI heart.

PS: Sorry, Asan Akbar...NO VIRGINS for You!

It has been a long time since I was there, but I don't remember Ft Knox having a stockade. Where would they be holding this critter?
