Here is an important snip from the article you reference:
During the war in Iraq, soldiers from the 101st fought their way through the northern portion of the country, but they also did much more. The soldiers helped reopen schools and set up health clinics. And they helped Iraqi civilians in many other ways as well.

"If you were in this uniform, and you were wearing this patch, it wasn't unusual for someone to bring you something to fix before they'd take it to someone who was qualified," [Army Spc. Timothy] Turman [ Jr., an infantry soldier with the 101st Airborne Division] said. "That's just the way it is. A lot of the people really looked up to us."

Interesting . . . but it still doesn't say what is being done with this guy. Shouldn't he have been tried already?
