Geez, I didn't know that article was a joke.
But then again, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he did say it.

Do Nothing Democrats On The War In Terror
By Tamara Wilhite ()
D = do-nothing democrat, C = concerned citizen
C: What do we do about the terrorists?
D: Do nothing.
C: Shouldn't we be trying to fight them?
D: Certainly not. If we kill them, they'll hate us.
C: Don't they already hate us?
D: That's beside the point. They don't like us, and we can't give them a valid reason for their hatred of us by killing their cohorts.
C: What about the fact that they've been killing us for years?
D: Soldiers volunteered for that when they volunteered for the military, so their deaths don't count unless it furthers our agenda. Conservative black diplomats serving in Africa don't matter. Dead evangelical missionaries get what they asked for - martyrdom. We shouldn't do anything about those idiots who got themselves killed.
C: What should we do if they continue to attack us at home?
D: Nothing! We can't strike back. That would risk enraging the Arab Street.
C: I thought they already hated us.
D: Yes, but striking out at them would breed more terrorists.
C: Aren't they already breeding terrorists?
D: Yes. But the Muslim minority in this nation is very vocal and very active in increasing their numbers by both local production and foreign imports. We can't risk them being angry with us. They're very conservative, but they can be lulled to the Democratic side. Acting against their friends in the Middle East risks them becoming violent in our own streets.
C: Haven't some of those locally born or naturalized citizens sought to act against the US?
D: We can't assume they did anything. We don't have adequate proof yet.
C: Those men from Lackawanna pled guilty.
D: They haven't run out of appeals, so we can't assume that they're guilty.
C: What can we do to defend ourselves from attack?
D: Converting to Islam is a possibility.
C: If we do nothing, we might not be allowed to make that choice willingly.
D: Nonsense! Islam is a religion of peace!
C: The Sunni and Shiite attacks on each other in Iraq and Pakistan are proof that that's not a safe option. They're throwing suicide bombers at other sects of Islam even as they send them at our allies and us.
D: That's a trivial detail. They hate us because we're oppressing them.
C: How are we oppressing them?
D: We're buying their oil!
C: How is that oppressing them?
D: We're bringing capitalism to their socialist dictatorships. Democracy could only be around the corner if that continued.
C: Then how do we stop oppressing them?
D: We should stop buying their oil.
C: Then how will we keep our economy going?
D: We won't. That's part of the beauty of it. We would just do nothing. No oil imports. No problems.
C: Our economy would stall -
D: More Democratic votes.
C: We'd see the transportation network grind to a stop -
D: More people doing nothing, and that would save the environment, too.
C: Shouldn't we build more power plants here, then, to reduce dependence on their oil?
D: Oh, no.
C: Why not?
D: That costs too much.
C: Per your arguments, it would reduce the terrorist motivations.
D: Yes, but it would provide jobs and power. We can't do that.
C: So you vote to turn off the oil imports and to not bother with a replacement fuel source?
D: Of course! Doing nothing about the supply or the demand issues would bring the whole nation to a stop! Imagine it! Everyone doing nothing ... except being motivated to vote for us because we can solve the crisis!

C: You do know you have your head up your rectum.
D: Nonsense! I do not.
C: That's it. I'm voting for Bush.
D: Do you really want an evil, imperialist regime in America?
C: If that's the alternative to your "solutions". Yes.

It FICTION. But it does sound like limp-wristed Jimmuh Cartuh at his finest. BE NICE TO MORDOR TODAY! While its made up, Jimmy Carter's foreign policy incompetence as President in the late 1970s left the feeling of a country on the run and on the defensive. NEVER FORGET!!!

Jimmy Carter: "Useful Idiot" or "Traitor"?
"[Marshall Tito] is a man who believes in human rights.
[He is] a great and courageous leader [who] has led his people
and protected their freedom almost for the last 40 years." -- Carter, while still in office, hailing Yugoslavia's communist dictator
"Our goals are the same: to have a just system of economics and
politics ... We believe in enhancing human rights." -- Carter comparing himself to Romania's dictator Nicolae Ceausescu
"Our concept of human rights is preserved in [Communist] Poland." -- Carter speaking to Stalinist Edward Gierek, Poland's First Secretary
"[I am] ashamed of what my country has done to your country." -- Carter speaking to Haitian dictator Lt. Gen. Raoul Cedras
"I don't see that they [the North Koreans] are an outlaw nation." -- Carter in North Korea, lauding Stalinist Kim Il Sung,
one of the most destructive and repressive dictators in history
"Ill-informed commentators in both countries have cast the other side
as a villain and have even forecast inevitable confrontation
between the two nations." -- Carter making exquisite moral equivalence between the giant and
repressive Chinese Communist state and America
Carter gave away US oversight of the Panama Canal, "the most
important waterway in the world," says Adm. Thomas H. Moorer (ret),
which is now "packed with Chinese communists."
Sadat, appalled that Carter wanted the Soviets in on Middle East peace
negotiations, decided to directly offer peace to Israel's Begin. When
their plan was essentially worked out, they then called the White House,
because obviously, "they needed someone to pay the bill" (Bernard Lewis).
Not resting on his laurels, Carter demanded the Shah of Iran step down
and turn over power to the Ayatollah Khomeini, an Islamic madman. Carter
had the Pentagon tell the Shah's top military commanders - about 150 of
them - to acquiesce to the Ayatollah and not fight him. The Shah's
military listened to Carter. ALL OF THEM were murdered in one of the
Ayatollah's first acts. By allowing the Shah to fall, Carter created one
of the most militant anti-American dictatorships ever. Soon the new Iranian
government was ransacking our embassy and held hostage its staff for over
a year. More than 20,000 pro-Western Iranians were put before firing
squads. With the Shah gone, the whole region was destabilized.
Iraq took advantage of the Shah's departure to invade Iran, a war that
killed more than 500,000 people. It also created the regional instabilities
that led to Iraqs later invasion of Kuwait and to Operation Desert Storm,
which cost the lives of hundreds of thousands more. But Carter meant well.
In the closing days of the 1980 election, Carter's White House contacted
the Soviets in a
quid pro quo to plead for assistance in stopping Reagan
from winning. In 1984, Carter himself visited Soviet Ambassador Dobrynin
to ask the Soviets to intervene on behalf of Democrats. Damning evidence
that Jimmy Carter, as both president and citizen, may have committed treason
by enlisting the help of our enemies in presidential elections.
Since leaving office, Carter has:
- praised Syria's late Assad (killer of at least 20,000 in Hama)
- praised Ethiopian tyrant Mengistu (killer of many more than that)
- secured Saudi funding for Arafat after he sided with Iraq against the US
- wrote the UN Security Council after Iraq invaded Kuwait, urging them
to thwart President Bush's pre-Gulf War coalition (designed to reverse
that act of aggression) - another action some called "treason"
"Our people, who face Israeli bullets, have no weapons: only a few stones
remaining when our homes are destroyed by Israeli bulldozers." -- from a speech written by Carter for Yassir Arafat
"[Arafat's] election [was] democratic, well organized, open and fair." -- Carter describing the "rigged" 1996 Palestinian election
"[Arafat] may well see the suicide attacks as one of the few ways
to retaliate against his tormentors, to dramatize the suffering of
his people, or as a means for him, vicariously, to be a martyr." -- Carter in an apologia for the Pali homicide-bombings
And yet, with the blood of perhaps a million people dripping from his hands,
Carter stalked the earth in his sick quest to be given a Nobel Peace Prize.
If he had any moral center at all, he would return his recent peace prize.
Carter is the smiley face of evil.

The scary thing here, aside from Jimmy Carter's continued existence as a weapon of mass deracination, is that Old Goofy Tooth may actually be on to something. People's concepts of fantasy really do subtly color their perceptions of the concrete world (and I don't mean Jimmy Carter's head).
When Dennis Kucinich was bruting about his endorsement by Grandfather Twilight (OMG, LOLUISMP), I posted a vanity on fantasy as an element of politics...

I used to believe that Mr. Carter was a moderate Democrat. I stand corrected. He is a certifiable wacko!

Carter blasts Lord of the Rings as dangerous? Someone had predicted that this would happen. Rush? Hannity? I can't remember. Just imagine if Jerry Falwell said that! "Lord of the Rings is dangerous." LOL. Maybe we should burn all the videos and Tolkien books, just to make liberals feel safer. [Belly laugh].
One thing clear to anyone who studied Tolkien a little: WW2 left a tremendous impact on him. In the Hobbit, it's clear Tolkien doesn't like wars over resources. He's also a bit of an environmentalist. But nothing was more important to him than defending the Free World from totalitarians. Tolkien would be proud as punch if he knew how badly he was scaring today's Chamberlains and anti-Churchills.

I read about 3/4 of the article and got so steamed that I emailed it to our talk radio guy, Shannon Burke.
I then finished the article and guess what? Shannon starts talking about our former peanut farmer in chief, and quoted him!
I emailed him again with an apology for jumping the gun, and fortunately he cut to a commercial break.
When he came back he began talking about Pete Rose.
Gosh, I feel like such a jerk for running off half-cocked like that.

Okay, I was reading that and thought to myself, "OMG, this has GOT to be a joke! Because if it's not, ol' Jimmah Cahtah's done gone off his damned rocker."
But when I read it to the end, the author let me off the hook.
LOL Reminds me of when I was reading the LOTR trilogy, and an image popped into my brain of environmental whackos gathered at the Black Gate of Mordor, protesting the environmental degradation of that cursed land.
