Pres. Bush traveled to St. Louis to promote his "No Child Left Behind" education law. Pres. Bush spoke at the Pierre Laclede Elementary School, which he said in his Saturday radio address had risen "to meet our new standards."
Pres. Bush also visited with about 50 fourth-graders. One asked Pres. Bush if he had wanted to be president when he was a child.
"No," Bush told the children, all nearly a decade shy of voting age. "It can be pretty hard." Still, he called his job "a very rewarding experience" and took credit for "a world that's more peaceful, (where) more kids are learning to read."
He also appeared at his first campaign fund-raiser of the year, adding to a record total of more than $110 million in contributions for a primary race in which he has no Republican opponent. Pres. Bush now has $120 Million in his campaign bank account.
On Thursday, the second anniversary of the signing of the No Child Left Behind Act, Pres. Bush will hold a similar event at West View Elementary School in Knoxville, Tenn. Both events are paired with re-election campaign fund-raisers.

Awww, Minette sounds so lovely. She may be a punk but it sounds like she does some really endearing things.
There are times when I wish I had a cat or dog, so I wouldn't be talking to myself! Talking to a dog is ok - people don't think you're losing your mind when you talk to them!
I just heard an ad on TV for the Washington Post this Sunday, with a huge jobs section. I don't usually get it because I enjoy my sanity and besides, I get the Washington Times which is a wonderful newspaper - conservative, and publishes articles on religion and Churches that you'll just not find anywhere else.
Anyway, I'm going to buy it this Sunday and write cover letters off for some jobs. Contrary to popular opinion - "writing cover letters and sending resumes in response to ads in the newspaper just doesn't work" - I have obtained employment no less than 3 times in my life, from ads. I mean, why else would they go to the expense of advertising, if they weren't going to respond to the influx of mail as a result?
I am going to get back into my field, and I am going to be gainfully employed in 2004.
And that's the truth! Phffffffftttt!

Does Mr. B saw the wood for the woodstove?
My cousin's oldest daughter, Wanda, lives in Annapolis and they all take turns choping wood, but I think Wanda does the majority of it. Why she has a weight problem with all the wood she chops is a mystery to me. Also does low-impact Jazzercise 4 or 5 times a week. With all of that exercise, I'd sure be able to maintain my weight, that's for sure. Instead, I walk and swim to maintain.

Persue every avenue to achieve your dream, Truthy!
I had several lovely jobs come from ads as well, go for it!
It's a good thing nobody hears me talking to my cats and Colle, I talk nonsense to them..they don't care!
Wish I had a scanner and digital camera, I would take a picture of Minette and send it to you..
Just picture a jet black cat with emerald eyes, big stoopid ears, and 1/2 a tail, that's her.
I saved her from certain death..she was being tortured and abused when I took her out of that situation..
Now she tortures and abuses me!
I have to repaper part of the bathroom, where she insists on clawing it down..sigh, little monster!!!
I gotta hit the hay, I'm beat!
If ya get too cold, come and sit by the cookstove in my cozy kitchen, and have some nice tea...
I love ya...talk tomorrow?
God Bless..

We usually order wood..and then Mr.B cuts and splits it..
(another favorite "man thing" he does that I love..)
Since it is a cookstove, it only takes one foot lengths..I cannot order it that way, it usually come 16" lengths..
I have a friend who has 10 times the pep I do..and just does a kinds of things, yet she too, remains very heavy...
I don't know, perhaps that is just the way they were meant to be. like..I am very petite and slim..but I have always had a little "pooch"..(belly) no matter how much weight I lose..sigh...
I love to walk and I think that has helped my recovery, I just walked in the house alot!
Good Night Sweetie..
Thanks so much for posting The Dose tonight!!
You're wonderful and THAT'S the truth!!
Pffhhhhtttt!!!!!

***we DOSERS start from the premise that President Bush is a man of great moral integrity who will do what is RIGHT for this country, not what is politically expedient (if he wanted to be politically expedient, he'd just pull a Clinton and ignore the whole situation). Bottomline: We TRUST President Bush to propose a rational, reasoned immigration policy based on the best information/research available. We can subsequently agree or disagree with the policy, but we won't doubt the President's moral or political sincerity! ***
VERY well said, Dr. Deb. You have a talent for putting to words what I just have as thoughts. Guess that's why you're the Dr.! :-)

Isn't it refreshing to have a President who doesn't delay traffic for 2 hours, or inconvenience other people who are flying.
Thanks for confirming this for us.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
The FR Canteen still and always has supported USO programs.
There is a misunderstanding by some that the FR Canteen
is opposed to the USO because of the name change at their request.
To dispel this rumor one only has to click on the FR Canteen Post Office
and see the same USO links that have been in there since Nov 2001.
Will You help keep the Candle Lit for our service men and women?
Can you spare a few moments today to either
e-mail them or learn about sending packages to them?
Many of them are away from home for the 1st time.
PLEASE Click on the graphic and help cheer them up.
You will stay right where you are on this thread while you write them.
Thank You

I think I know what you wanted to say to that disrupter. I don't think that can be printed. LOL!
I admire you for your restraint.
Now you can tell me the "art" of avoiding confrontations with disrupters.

there's a newish thread by the Lead Moderator in which he tells people who want to argue about immigration to take it to the Smokey Back Room where it now belongs, or be subjected to losing privileges. Thanks for posting that info. Hadn't seen it.
