Pres. Bush traveled to St. Louis to promote his "No Child Left Behind" education law. Pres. Bush spoke at the Pierre Laclede Elementary School, which he said in his Saturday radio address had risen "to meet our new standards."
Pres. Bush also visited with about 50 fourth-graders. One asked Pres. Bush if he had wanted to be president when he was a child.
"No," Bush told the children, all nearly a decade shy of voting age. "It can be pretty hard." Still, he called his job "a very rewarding experience" and took credit for "a world that's more peaceful, (where) more kids are learning to read."
He also appeared at his first campaign fund-raiser of the year, adding to a record total of more than $110 million in contributions for a primary race in which he has no Republican opponent. Pres. Bush now has $120 Million in his campaign bank account.
On Thursday, the second anniversary of the signing of the No Child Left Behind Act, Pres. Bush will hold a similar event at West View Elementary School in Knoxville, Tenn. Both events are paired with re-election campaign fund-raisers.

***Does your SUB have doors that drop down - 90 degrees from the side of the SUV, so that the Secret Service guys can stand on them, and shoot, if necessary?
***
They really do that? Cool! Tell me more about presidential SUV's. I find facinating all the things that go on "behind the scenes" when the president travels, or stays home for that matter.

I love the pictures where he's talking to and interacting with children. It always looks like they're cooking up some kind of mischief.

Awwww, we hate it when you are so busy that you can't show up here. We miss you. It isn't the same without you.
Sheesh, first Brad's Gramma disappeas. Then you disappear. One might think it's a conspiracy, for Pete's sake.
Where were the two of you, really? We want the truth.

I know I'm making him taller than he really is, but I can't break my New Year's resolution of being nice and positive to everyone after only five days. He's really standing on a ten foot ladder. :)

Awww Shucks You guys are so great.
Since my deceitful ways don't fool you, I shall tell you the truth. Gramms has been trying to get me to mop her floor, wash her dishes, and give her kitchen a major cleaning job forever. She got tired of waiting for the price of gas to drop to .99/gal (I wasn't going to drive unless it was cheap) so she hopped on her porta-jon/convertable to come pick me up. I've been slavin in her kitchen since my Christmas break.

I broke mine today, but I'm right back on trying to keep it.
I worked around the US Navy for over 20 years and they added some, ahem, how shall I say this? colorful language to my vocabulary.
Last year, my New Year's resolution was to keep from saying any of those words outloud and thinking them. Got the out loud part down but didn't do so well with the under my breath.
Sooooooo, this year, I'm working on keeping from even thinking them. Traffic in the rain today did me in.
But I'm going to work on it, if it takes me ALL year to get this done.
Truthy
I'm off to grab some dinner. BRB in twenty.

Dang, girl. You were supposed to let me know when you were ready to post this so I could be first. Did you forget???? I understand gingko biloba is good for memory problems (just a helpful hint). But you did good -- the pictures are great. W and children are always such a good match. Thanks!

No calls or emails yet. I'm still hoping. I was told that it might take a week or so for them to work through their Inboxes, for snail mail and email as most took time off at the end of the year.
So, I'm saying a prayer everyday for some calls.
It just takes ONE to get me back in. ONE.
I can't wait. I want so much to do what I used to do and since I did/do it with brilliance, I know that I can be really useful and productive for someone (for a lot of money, of course!).
Thanks for asking. Keep praying?
Truthy
.........and now for some dinner. I'll be back in a few.

Somehow I acquired that colorful language as well. I've resolved many three years in a row to erase it out of my vocab, but certain situations seem to bring the color back.
This year I have a plan. Try and substitute watered down words for the colorful language and take each day five minutes at a time and see if I can go without saying anything bad.
That cold water from the shower when somebody flushes a toilet or turns on a faucet does me in every time.
I wish you the best of luck. I know you can do it. Just don't drive when it rains.
I'm off to grab dinner, too.

***Will tomorrow's version show Bush with Vincente Fox, discussing the new Mexican Social Security field office and bouncing around the idea of patriating millions of mexican illegal aliens to the United State?***
Hey, Spacey, there's a newish thread by the Lead Moderator in which he tells people who want to argue about immigration to take it to the Smokey Back Room where it now belongs, or be subjected to losing privileges. This is OUR time on FR. And you're not going to drag us into an argument.
