Congrats to USC and LSU(automatic winner of the Snoop Doggy Dog trophy), split co-champs. Too bad they can't prove it on the field later this month.
I guess it takes a mess to get something finally fixed.

I'm not particularly a college football fanatic but it seemed odd to me that any team with a late season loss was considered for a number #1 ranking.
The logic of the BCS software escapes me if tinkering to promote an agenda is excluded.

I certainly don't think that Oklahoma should be ranked #3. They look terribly weak to me and really haven't played anyone all year. Their top opponents were: Kansas State, Texas, and Oklahoma State. All of them lost their bowl games.
Texas is probably the most overrated team out there. Mack Brown is the worst coach. As usual, I'm sure we'll read all sorts of stories in the coming months about UT's "excellent recruiting" season. The UT alumni must pay off the AP and Coaches to get an initial high ranking.

Tis a shame we won't see that one more game, but for my money, USC appeared head and tails above either of those teams I saw tonight. LSU held on to beat a sloppy and hapless OU and their Heisman hype. Anyway, USC woulda been a heck of alot better choice than OU in the BCS game.

Too bad LSU and USC couldn't duke it out.

USC had a loss, came back, ran the table, won their conference, won their bowl, and were voted first by the writers, second by the coaches.
LSU had a loss, came back, ran the table, won their conference, won their bowl, and were voted first by the coaches, second by the writers.
In my opinion, that makes them both champions. In my opinion, it takes nothing away from either to say that. And since I personally did not sign on to abide by the verdict of the BCS, I'm under no legal or moral obligation to consider one less genuine than the other, as far as I'm concerned.
I'll even congratulate Oklahoma on having a good year, although not a better year than SC or LSU. I would say that in light of OU's losing both its conference championship and the Sugar Bowl (soundly) despite leading the BCS standings wire-to-wire, in addition to other incidents over the last few years, the parties to the BCS might reconsider whether it's all that useful at doing what it was supposed to do. That's a
euphemism for, "They ought to let the thing die when the contract runs out and replace it with something else." Frankly, with each attempt at "improving" the postseason, the old "unimproved" system looks better and better.

Am I reading this wrong or is this poll not counting the LSU/OU game in the final stats?
2. LSU (17) 13-1 1,576 2 Last game: Def. Oklahoma 21-14 (Jan. 4) Next game: vs. Oklahoma (Jan. 4)
3. Oklahoma 12-2 1,476 3 Last game: Lost to LSU 21-14 (Jan. 4) Next game: vs. LSU (Jan. 4)

Is Florida the new (post-greatness) Notre Dame? 5 losses, crushed in their bowl game, and they still make the top 25?

Cool! Two Ohio schools in the Top Ten and Ohio State outranking Michigan. I'll take it.

Purdue and Florida lost their last games and ended up 8-5. Arkansas won it's last game against Mizzou, which ain't no slouches, and ended up 9-4. Yet Arkansas isn't in the the top 25. This sucks. You can see I'm a Hog fan.
