According to a recent article in the Washington Times, a high school student in California who recently founded the 50-member "Conservative Club" at his school, is under attack by the school's liberal faculty and administration, as well as student body members.
The student, Tim Bueler, "said he had received threats from other students after writing an article for the club newsletter calling for a crackdown on illegal immigration."
What was the school administration's response? "His principal and a campus police officer suggested that he stay home from his California high school for a few days."
Bueler says his club's staunch conservative views (the club has hosted speakers from groups like Eagle Forum and the National Rifle Association) inspired threats from which teachers have refused to protect him. He also reports that faculty members stand by and do nothing to help him when these threats occur.
Some FACULTY members even started a public campaign against his group; one teacher called Tim "a Nazi," while another described the club as "a bunch of bigots." In a parody of the club's newsletter, biology teacher Mark Alton called on students to "take a stand against the neoconservative wing- nuts who call themselves Americans."
Forty school staff members signed a letter, co-authored by Alton, to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat newspaper opposing Bueler's group's conservative statements; Alton (a TEACHER) stated, "What bothers me is the extreme views that border on racism or homophobia." This, about a club that includes membership of female students and Latinos and other minorities.
Well, so much for free speech in American high schools -- at least, if you're conservative. We need to STAND UP for these brave, patriotic students -- and we've set up a way to do just that.
Things have gotten so bad that Bueler's Conservative Club has invited students to call its "liberal assault hot line" to report whether they've been "verbally assaulted for being conservative." Bueler even thought about taking his principal's advice and leaving the school, but decided to take a stand and say, "No way." He says his inspiration to uphold American ideals comes from his late grandfather, Mark Bueler, a Pearl Harbor survivor and lifelong patriot.
We need to join him in his stance. Go to our site below to send a message to Rancho Cotate Principal Mitchell Carter, asking him to tell the teachers at his school to stop harassing Tim Bueler for his conservative beliefs, and to protect his right to express those beliefs - including the protection of his physical person:

It's the same intimidation against conservative thought from sea to shining sea.
We must speak up, teach our children to respect the opinions of others.......and teach our children that respect for the law is a benefit to all.
Yes, I am dreaming!

The actions of the faculty listed here are easily construed as deliberately creating a hostile educational enviroment. The potential Federal and (possibly) state liabilities of these staff members (not to mention the school system) could easily fund substantial additional conservative activities if persued vigorously, as well as this students higer education ambitions.

We must DEMAND the offending teachers and principal be suspended pending further investigation in this civil rights violation. We must also demand the harassing and threatening students be re-educated through some form of sensitivity studies. These rabid students need to learn that conservatism is not an ugly word.

At our high school the principal told a young man not to come to school on Cinco de Mayo. This young man had an American flag sewn onto his backpack. The principal felt that the student's presence would be "disrupting" on this particular day.

MAKE AN ENDURING DIFFERENCE! INTRODUCE AN UNDEREMPLOYE theD LAWYER TO THESE STUDENTS.
Please reread post by templar and mske a permanent change in that school. Believe me, if successful, other schools will hear about it at once and change.
Edu-socialists are very attached to their assets - funny, as they are socialists. Or are they merely sociaism impaired opportunists?

Oh, and by the way, if asked if you are given an opportunity for promoting independent thinking then by all means answer in the affirmative.
It appears, looking at history, as though free thought with liberal minds = free thought as long as the thought coincides with their agenda.

I'd say that's fine. I'll come to school May 5 thankyouverymuch.

It is very obvious who the bigots are in this affair, and who the neo-Nazis. When we allow educational crack-pots to intimidate Americans from defending their ethnic heritage and the values of the Founding Fathers, we have failed in our moral responsibility to safeguard the sacred patrimony handed down to us.
Thank you for posting this. As an Ohioan, I have little influence in California. My inclination would be to send an insulting challenge to the faculty Leftists, suggesting they choose their Golliath, and we have a little debate; but I know the breed, and there is not likely one among them who would dare face any articulate Conservative.
The campus Left, virtually everywhere, are bullies, psuedo-intellectual thugs; but challenge them on their premises, and if they cannot shout you down, they will crawl into their holes, and wait for the danger to pass. Then they come out again, and resume the bullying tactics, snearing contempt for any student who questions the wisdom of egalitarian Socialist collectivism.
