Prisoner charged in threat to Sen. Clinton Authorities say a federal inmate in N.J. had a hit list that included her and former President Bill Clinton. By John Shiffman Inquirer Staff Writer
CAMDEN - A South Jersey prison inmate has been charged with threatening to kill U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Federal authorities said the man had a violent past and figured an assassination would bring him fame.
Edward A. Falvey, 51, was charged this week in U.S. District Court with threatening to kill an immediate family member of a former president, a federal crime.
Authorities did not publicize the arrest, and Clinton is identified in court papers only as "H.R.C."
Falvey, a New York bank robber serving a 30-month term at the federal prison in Fairton, Cumberland County, was scheduled for release in June. If convicted of threatening to kill Clinton, he faces up to five more years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacqueline Carle said Falvey was charged "because of the nature of his threat, his prior record, and his ability to carry out violent crime."
In 1977, Falvey was arrested and charged with threatening to kill then-President Jimmy Carter. Falvey was convicted and received probation.
According to the Secret Service, Falvey allegedly wrote a letter to a prison psychologist in April 2003 in which he said he wanted to "shoot a very famous person... . My life is dull and boring. I need to spice it up."
His plans included a "hit list" naming Clinton, as well as former President Bill Clinton, and federal judges, Carle said, as well as detailed plans for shooting the senator.
In another letter, Falvey allegedly explained himself: "Why? Because when I am released, I have nothing to look forward to! This could be how my 15 minutes of fame starts... . I'll also make it into history books."
"He was very up-front about his intention," Carle said.
Falvey allegedly repeated his assertion to Secret Service agents who visited him in prison in July. After the agents left, Falvey allegedly wrote to the prison psychologist: "This is all starting to get exciting... . I feel like a movie star."
Falvey's public defender, Christopher O'Malley, could not be reached for comment yesterday. Clinton's office was closed yesterday for the holidays.

The leftist judges have let Hinckley out on unsupervised visits and he ACTUALLY shot President Reagan.
I say we let this guy go too on unsupervised probation and see what happens.

Hey, he wants to be a celebrity -- just like Hinckley, who still hankers after fame. But, but we're letting Hinckley out to visit mom and pop without supervision. Can't be anything wrong there. Not.

Since he wanted fame, I have always wondered if the authorities should ever release the names of assassins. Why not let them die in complete oblivion. There is even a Ray Bradbury story where the "assassin" is released without notifying the authorities nor the media.

Dear Mr. Hinkley;
I recently learned of your successful attempt to obtain unsupervised visitation privileges and just wanted to send you a note of congratulations.
I know that there are many conservatives and Republicans who will disagree with my point of view on this subject but I must be true to my own beliefs. You see, Mr. Hinkley, I earnestly believe that Americans who have paid their debt to society should be given a second chance to make something of their lives. While I certainly don't agree with your actions against former President Reagan, we all know that that was a long time ago and you have undergone many hours of treatment and therapy. And even if the odds are slim that you are truly cured, I sincerely believe that you have earned your chance to prove the world wrong.
With this letter I hope that, in my own small way, I am helping you on the road to recovery. After all, it's not every day that the President of the United States takes the time to insert himself into the middle of such a polarized issue, but that's just how strongly I feel about this subject. Perhaps my words will help you as you move on to the next phase of your life.
Sincerely,
George W. Bush
President of the United States of America
P.S. Having been incarcerated you may not be aware of the fact that Hillary Clinton has been having a lesbian relationship with Jodie Foster these many years. Just thought you would want to know.
