"Know that God is displeased and hates the unbeliever," he warns.

Right here is a BIG difference between Islam and Christianity.

The speaker is talking about Allah who "hates the unbeliever". But the real God - revealed in the Bible - hates sin while loving the unbeliever, not desiring his death but his individual reconciliation and salvation.

Nowhere in the Bible is the believer commmanded to kill the unbeliever because of his faith. The Koran commands and encourages it in many instances.

Those who try to equate Allah and God as the same Being are foolish, uninformed or lying.

Use original article titles only please. Thank you.

This is a silly request.

In general, headlines are not supplied by the author but rather by an editor with the purpose of attracting attention to the story. Here the editor is the FReeper who posted the story and he may feel that the FreeRepublic audience would be more attracted by a different headline.

I'm not suggesting that some alternate headlines might not be deemed inappropriate for reasons of profanity, personal attack, racism, violence, or other considerations of taste, but there should not be a blanket restriction on alternate headlines, IMHO.

Not a silly request at all.

Also, if there are several threads all following the same story under different heads, then the discussion becomes fractionated and the purpose of posting here is to provoke discussion.

If I want to see if an article has already been posted before wasting my time organizing it only to have it killed, I search for key words in the headline from which I am posting.

OTOH, it would be nice if a provision were to be made for us to enter a second headline, which we could possibly use either add the columnist's sub-head or to add a sub-head of our own.

I have a number of friends who are ex-muslims as well as some who are Christians who have lived (or still live) in Islamic nations such as Copts. It's amazing how fooled the West is regarding Islam and the complete teachings and examples of Muhammad. The site your reference does make that distinction correctly.

Anyone having any doubt about what islam believes, preaches or has in mind for America, need only join paltalk chat to hear in their own words. This religion of peace will slit your throat so fast you'd never know it.

Outside the democrat socialist party,, islam is America's # 1 Enemy

"Know that God is displeased and hates the unbeliever," he warns.

Compared with the Christian doctrine that God loves the sinner but hates the sin...

Thanks for the ping. As for comments here on Islam uniquely hating unbelievers, don't mean to be a party-pooper, but there are Christian reformed theologians, who believe/teach that God does hate the unbeliever. They reference the "Jacob have I loved and Esau have I hated" passage, and they equate the 'unelect' with Esau. And to be a contrarian again, there are plenty of verses in the bible about killing the enemy and having no mercy on those who worship "other" gods. But of course, Christians of Jews don't take those literally. (At least I hope not) So I hardly think we can portray Islam as incomparably "bad" (vs. Christianity & Judaism) because its call to kill the unbelievers. David, a hero of the Christian and Jewish faiths, was celebrated for (among other things) "slaying" thousands...in supposed obedience to God.

Yes, but how many are presently advocating the slaughter of the Esaus? Aren't most content to believe that God's going to send the Esaus to hell? Slight difference there.

Anyway, you must have had a very interesting time at this shindig, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

The liberal left go out of their way to ignore what's happening. In the mean time they are busy trying to turn our next generation into spineless whimps. They are ready to give our country away and have the UN take over... Our enemy have been busy preparing their next generation in a holy war, ready to take over the world.

I'm not good at posting pics, but click this link:

The references within the Bible relating ancient Israel killing are not comparable to the Quranic teachings. Firstly, there was never a blanket command to kill all non-believers. Secondly, they are historical records, not commands that anyone interprets as a command to go out and kill unbelievers. And lastly, if the first example one can come up with is thousands of years old (King David), then perhaps it is clear that muslims currently acting on widely accepted Quranic teachings to kill unbelievers is not in any way related to historical descriptions of events that happened thousands of years ago.

The soothing baritone rises effortlessly to navigate an exotic series of microtones and complex rhythmic cadences.

Why do writers do this? Why do they try so hard to sound intelligent and artisitic...I hate this transparent style.

Now I will read the whole thing...

With all due respects...but this article as far as I could tell had absolutley nothing new in it.

Tons of pre 9/11 references but not a single quote that came out of this particular conference...

I admit after the first dozen paragraphs I started skimming it...

No meat...just stale potatoes...

I want to see a present day under-cover video of one of their private meetings...

The contrast between the God of Islam and Christianity couldn't be anymore stark than in the following:

Muslim View:"Know that God is displeased and hates the unbeliever," he warns. - Muslim Cleric

Christian View: Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

In the Christian view, God loves us first, while we are yet sinners. God hates our sin, and His quality of justice requires that He punish us for our sin. But He never hates us, He has loved us from the beginning.

"David, a hero of the Christian and Jewish faiths, was celebrated for (among other things) "slaying" thousands...in supposed obedience to God."

There is a difference though. What David did was mostly in defense of Israel. And by the end of his life, David had achieved peace with all of his neighbors.

Not only that, even though David did do violence at the command of the Lord, God wouldn't let David build Him the temple, because David had done so much violence. The violence is a "necesary evil" because of the evil of man. God never desires violence, even though God may use it to repay evil. In fact, if you look at the flood story, the fact that "the earth was filled with violence because of man" was the reason given for God starting over.

In "Battle: A History of Combat and Culture," John A. Lynn, a professor of history at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign advises against labeling terrorism as "evil" and insists it should be included in the "realm of war." He says, "A case can be made that terrorism is essentially a poor man's form of warfare."

For the record, Battle is a hysterical polemic specifically written by the leftist Lynn to attack the writings of Victor Davis Hanson. Consider the source.
