We tried the "some Judges need to be appointed because they will make legally correct, but unpopular decisions, and they need the isolation from voters."
It has proven to be a failure in practice, IMO.
What I note is that the local judges who have to run for office are a lot more polite to citizens than the appointed ones.

Amen, brother. There are those who wish to rewrite history, and remake America into what they want it to be the problem is, the literal intent of the Constitution stands in their way. Their solution is to appoint other like-minded heretics and seditionists to reinterpret what the Founding Fathers absolutely intended to be carved in stone (and a hale-and-hearty 'KISS MY VIKING @SS' to Mr. Al 'Living Breathing Document' Gore).
