Yesterday there was mention that several US Air Force Stealth Aircraft were going to overfly the Rose Bowl.
Today I searched for photos of this event, finding several.
HOWEVER, in my humble opinion (grin ;-) I think the below photo is the best of the few I found of the stealth overfly event.
Please visit Yahoo!News - Sports Photos - AP to freep/vote for this photo to number one status ... Yahoo login required though :-(
Stealth fighters and a bomber fly over the stadium during opening ceremonies at the start of the Michigan-USC showdown in the 90th Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.
BTW ... do any LA Freepers have any photos of the stealth overfly event they would like to share???

When we invaded IRAQ, THIS was the view the folks LOVED to see!
It meant that the planes were leaving and that the bombs had NOT blown their sorry asses up!

Good lord.
What in the world is THIS person snorting?
More importantly, it means that only Dennis Kucinich or another core, liberal, traditional Democrat can make the race with Bush a race solely based on retaining previous Gore voters. Dennis Kucinich can beat Bush by three million votes or more without needing a single 2000 Bush vote to do it. No other candidate has this advantage against Bush.
You should stay away from there; you have a small child now and it's dangerous over there!

In July 2002 we watched a Stealth buzz over the World Championship Snowmobile Watercross at Grantsburg, Wisconsin (summer drag and oval snowmobile races over water) and the sight was unbelievable. It is truly an amazing machine that had the Watercross crowd stunned. It you're interested in Watercross check out: www.burnettcounty.com/h2ocross

Yep that rear shot in Post 24 sure looks like a Horent and not the Eagle.

Three Air Force planes buzz the parade route of the 115th Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena,
California on January 1, 2004. The United States began 2004 under extremely tight security in an effort to
thwart any terror attack on celebrations from New York to Las Vegas. The last big event of the U.S. New
Year celebrations -- the Rose Parade and football game in Pasadena -- was protected by video surveillance
cameras and two electronic sensors to detect biological agents in the Rose Bowl stadium. (Jim Ruymen/Reuters)

CLARIFYING THAT AIRCRAFT WERE FLYING OVER FOR CEREMONIAL PURPOSES AND NOT FOR SECURITY REASONS A B2 Stealth bomber!? That'd be one helluva security reason. Expecting Godzilla perhaps?

In 2000 during the large flotilla of "tall ships" in New York harbor they had one buzz the harbor. As you know, one cannot get a notion of these marvels unless one see them in person. It flew right above me. What a machine!
To: cake_crumb
LOL. What will fighters and bombers do, no matter how stealthily, to protect the crowd from a mass casualty attack? Open fire? Drop a nuke?

"We had to kill them to save them."
Actually, the overflight was for ceremonial purposes and not for security.

A B2 Stealth bomber!? Perhaps shock and awe?
To: Bloody Sam Roberts
That was my first thought as well. The front end looks like an FA-18 but the large elevons look like those on an F-15. Look at the low angle of the elevons, the F-15 has them at about 90 degrees.
