Yesterday there was mention that several US Air Force Stealth Aircraft were going to overfly the Rose Bowl.
Today I searched for photos of this event, finding several.
HOWEVER, in my humble opinion (grin ;-) I think the below photo is the best of the few I found of the stealth overfly event.
Please visit Yahoo!News - Sports Photos - AP to freep/vote for this photo to number one status ... Yahoo login required though :-(
Stealth fighters and a bomber fly over the stadium during opening ceremonies at the start of the Michigan-USC showdown in the 90th Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.
BTW ... do any LA Freepers have any photos of the stealth overfly event they would like to share???

Obligatory comment about how difficult it is to take photos of STEALTH aircraft (hee hee)

You should see the DUers talking about how offensive these "machines of death" are. They are even outraged at the presence of military bands in the parade!

Oh it's a fake. We all know the useless Office of Homeland Security is doing nothing to protect us from terrorism and it's all just an excuse for Bush to expand government.

I think, (r to l) it's a F-117, B-2 and a F-22?

I only see one Steath Fighter. (No wise cracks!!) The other looks like an Eagle. One stealth fighter. One stealth bomber. The other was, I believe, a Raptor.

I only see one Steath Fighter. (No wise cracks!!) The other looks like an Eagle. They were identified as the B-2 stealth bomber, F-22 Raptor stealth fighter and a third aircraft. Was that third one the F-117 stealth fighter?
And, no, I didn't see a thing.

Obligatory comment about how difficult it is to take photos of STEALTH aircraft. That's why you don't see the 12 black helicopters that were also flying in the formation.
To: rm3friskerFTN
Oh my gosh its a airplane, no its ufo no it is 2 billion dollars flying above our heads lol. Nice pick I love F-22 and F-17 looks impressive but B-2 is B-2 that airplane is marvel of ingenuity and American know-how.
To: Hegewisch Dupa
Whose right? Immediately over the "Welcome to the Pasadena Rose Bowl" sign is the F-117. Large aircraft in center is B-2, then F-22 over the green and white sign.

I think, (r to l) it's a F-117, B-2 and a F-22? I watched the game and that's what the announcers said they were. Good eye! And nice screen name.

Surprisingly enough, the F-117 is very difficult to capture when my digital camera is in auto focus mode. I have been to about 12 events where is was flying and I have had this problem at each event. The B-2 is easy to shoot in planform but shows the same problems, in profile, as the F-117.
