#1 Under-Reported Real Story: Memo-Gate. The content of treasonous memos leaked from the Senate Intelligence Committee were dissed by the major news media, save for complaints about the "leak" itself.

#2 Under-Reported Real Story of 2003: Dollar-Gate. The foreign governments of China, Taiwan, Japan, India, and the EU continued to buy Dollars on the open Market in order to prop up the Dollar rather than let their own currencies appreciate up to their fair market value (the end result being that exports to the U.S. were effectively subsidized, while imports from the U.S. were effectively taxed/penalized).

A 15-year-old Pakistani Christian boy named Zeeshan Gill was kidnapped and taken to a strict Islamic religious school where he was beaten until he converted to Islam. His captors warned if he tried to flee or return to Christianity, they would kill him.

#3 Most Under-Reported Real Story of 2003: California's crisis in leadership under Gray Davis, including the massive oppression of business owners forthcoming in laws that begin taking effect tomorrow/2004, as well as the dereliction of California's highways, the majority of the California Legislature being on the liberal "take", and the impending water and debt issues due to enacting decades of liberal policies there.

My thought exactly. Had the political parties been reversed, this would have been trumpted by the liberal media as Watergate II, on steroids.

#4 Most Under-Reported Real Story of 2003: Massive forest fires in those states over-run by liberal feelgood anti-logging regulations, contrasted with no wild fires at all in woodland states such as Alabama (where state logging rules actually favor scientific management of forests).

Sorry, I have a problem with #8 being considered a 'spiked' story. At worst, its a nonissue. Nobody I know of would volunteer to accept this technology.
If you'd have gone back 35 years ago, to 1968, and asked people if we'd have a cashless society by 2000, most scientifically educated people would have answered "yes". Flash forward to today, where every bank, and most major shopping outlets (including supermarkets) have a cash machine, a device that was unknown in 1968. Clearly, cash serves a need, not just for the paranoid.
I think a chip is a great way to deal with the very worst problems we face. If we're going to let sex criminals out of prison (I still think they need to be slowly tortured to death), why not chip them? What about chipping illegal aliens on their way back across our borders, if they return, we have the right to really kick their asses before sending them back again. It has applications in a "guest worker" program, too.
In no way do I support the chipping of innocent American citizens, just those who want the benefits of our society without working for citizenship, or those who have truly forfeited their rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the most vile of ways.

The legal implications of the Supreme Court's 'sodomy' ruling Was this story "spiked" on FR? What do you think? :)
The story was interesting for me of course, because I agreed with the holding emphatically as long as Roe v. Wade (and indeed Griswald) is on the books, but hated the reasoning. I am kind of an odd fellow.

Maybe I missed it, but shouldn't all those discoveries of Iraq's WMDs in the very begining of the invasion count?

The Beltway sniper investigation "hero" Police Chief Charles Moose was so obsessed with avoiding "racial profiling" that he seriously hindered the investigation. Moose never said anything about a white male. It was TV commmentators, who were going on the numbers with regard to serial killers, who kept talking aobut white males.
