I advocate this as a dishonorable thing to have done to you. Not something that everyone does routinely, and like all good patriots here, I would fight it vigorously. This is strictly a good idea to keep track of people that 90% of us know deserve watching, illegal aliens and sex criminals.

Besides, I'd never do anything for an SS card, there's not going to be a damn dime in the system when I'm 67, anyway. I have my own business, and don't need to supply identity documents to anyone, anyway. I figure biometric technology will make chips obsolete in the next 25 years, anyway. You'll authenticate your non-cash transactions with iris scans, if you choose to reduce the amount of cash you carry.

Well, prison doors have been opened, and we all didn't walk in. Slavery as an institution in Western society has disappeared. We can make progress, through the judicious use of technology, it doesn't always have to enslave us. If we take the time to develop laws that reflect ethical thinking as to when to allow something, and when to prohibit it absolutely, we remain the masters of science, rather than its subjects. That's what I advocate here.

Sorry for the "beast" thing, I just get into religious arguments on the subject of chipping here at FR, and I was going off that tack. You didn't come at it that way.
