France may have been reluctant to intercept any possible suspects, we should review the passenger list and detain any suspicious persons (even the crew members). Actually I learned something. I will win a few bets on this. The first will be with my wife who will say "No, they aren't scrambling Fighter Jets to escort AF planes to LAX, when I mention it to her tonight."

Our younger son in Portland, Oregon, rides his mountain bike on a trail near the Portland Airport. When the Air Force Guys go out, some now wag their wings when they fly over him. He has felt since 9/11 that they escort a lot of planes into Portland, particuliarly foriegn flights and ones from Canada. It appears that he may have been right.

Thanks J!!! Yeah I been reading this thread for about the past hour or so. I went up on the roof to see what I could see... I saw one large white plane, couldn't tell it if was AF or not.... about 5 mins later I saw two bright lights off in the distance heading downtown.... I watched as they flew over head and sure enough.... F-16's so this post was somewhat credible....
