DON'T SHOP DAY!!! (In protest of the upcoming Bush Amnesty)
Grassroots Effort ^ | American Patrol

Posted on 12/30/2003 10:55:22 AM PST by libertylass

"DON¹T SHOP DAY" IS CATCHING ON!! COMING TO TV!!

A major TV media outlet will do a story on the January 12th -- "Don¹t Shop Day." They have asked for an interview tomorrow!!! SEE http://tinyurl.com/3h5gn

WE NEED TALK RADIO TO DISCUSS THIS ACTION! We need you to call those talk shows!

Remember these talking points:

WHY?

A. Bush political advisors tell him voters have NO PLACE TO GO to protest his amnesty plans since all the Democrat candidates support amnesty. (See: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20030906-120054-6125r.htm)

HOW?

B. Since they think we have NO PLACE TO GO, we should let them know what they are up to by GOING NO PLACE on January 12, 2004, the first day of Bush¹s visit with Mexican President Fox in Mexico City. In other words, don¹t shop, don't go to movies, etc. Stay at home!

NO ONE IS HURT--

C. This is not a boycott. There will be no real economic damage to anyone, just a demonstration of our ability to protest. It's a win-win situation!

THERE IS NO SPONSOR--

D. While American Patrol is supporting this effort, there is no official sponsor. It is a true grassroots effort.

WHAT AMERICANS ARE SAYING:

Here is just some of the email feedback:

+++++++++++++++++++++ Everyone is really getting the word out. I think it's going to have a big impact. -- Along the same lines I think we should add: Make No Bank Deposits that day. Do not pay any bills (from the 9th-12th), and no online shopping either. -- Sincerely, Shanna in Arizona +++++++++++++++++++++++++ I did a search for historical events for the days between now and Jan.12th when President Bush will meet with President Fox, and the day when hundreds of thousands of Americans will not do ANY shopping. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Tuesday is the anniversary of the U.S.- Mexico border. Wednesday is the anniversary of the opening of Ellis Island. We will add another day: January 12, 2004 - the American people protested illegal immigration with their pocketbook. Barbara V. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The no shop day on 1/12/04 could stop Bush dead in his amnesty tracks if it catches on, and I very much think it will. My friends and family are spreading the word fast. The media is always writing about the great economic clout of the Latino lobby to make driver's licenses and Latino benefits happen. This could be a demonstration of REAL economic power that could upstage Bush/Fox in Monterrey Mexico on 1/12/04. This Bush-amnesty counter-measure is a brilliant idea. Suddenly we don't have to be observers watching our citizenship, sovereignty, and laws being thrown away. L.B., Riverside, CA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

2000 was a totally different time.

Bush had only been a Republican governor, seemingly then standing fast to conservative principles.

That is not the case today.

I wonder if they realize that "no place to go" includes the polls on election day....

"Mexican workers send their money to Mexico."

Partially correct.

Green card holders send the bulk of their paychecks home, but pay federal and state tax on it.

Once they become nationalized, most of their check stays in the U.S. and again, ALL of that money is taxed.

Try again.

Well, ST, each of your 18 points are as obvious as they are necessary.

I recommend you forward them to each congressman and senator requesting the courteousy of a reply.

Betcha you will be waiting a long, long time (except maybe from Sentor Kyl or Arizona) for an answer - even a politically correct one.

For the purposes of dealing with or resovling the incredibly neglectd issue of illegal immigration, I fear it will be election year for many, many years to come.

Musn't forget - the number one goal of any polititian is to get REELECTED!

The last real Republican to serve in the White House was Ronald Reagan.

Passing it around to everyone I know. But the political currs already know how we feel, they don't care. Like my neighbor says, it's going to take a civil war to fix the problem.

Your 18 points are genuinely fascinating.

Some of the best thinking I've seen in a long time on the subject of illegal immigration.

Seriesly.

If only we could find someone in office with enough gonads to go with just half of them. . .

I believe that was supposed to be sarcasm. I realize non-English speaking employees at a retail establishment is a minor inconvenience. It is insulting to me as a consumer that the business owner wants my money but is unwilling to do what is necessary to enable transactions possible and is insulted when that unwillingness is revealed. It is not a minor inconvenience for persons at police stations, hospitals, EMT's, etc., to deal with non-English speaking persons - it can be a matter of life and death. How many languages do I have to speak to live here? How many languages should I have to speak to live here? Who gets to pay for all the interpreters?

Who needs this?

Most countries, including the US would never give up sovereignty. It would be impossible in the foreseeable future, but interdependencies will develop that will allow for freedom of access across the borders and some sort of legal arrangements for contracts, justice and whatnot.

I would expect no real merger in any sense of the word, but more of a state to state relationship that allows for easy travel, banking and shipping arrangements.

A tax levied on each country would be needed to fund the related expenses.

Probably something like the EU.

The constitution would remain safe, however some amendments to allow for something like this might be needed. I have not really delved into the details of currency etc.

Our need for energy independence and young labor combined with Mexico's need for employment, education and our expertise in other matters will make this union happen eventually.

Zip and I would like to ask all of you to join our Grassroots CamPain. We want our voices heard and according to Mr. Ridge it doesn't matter of we complain, amnesty will happen. So we at least want to withhold our votes and make them worth 'something' to back up our 'complaints' and stand by what we feel:

Freeper Winker's Creed
No Person can be considered a "Contributor" to America un-less they are Identified,fingerprinted, placed on the Tax rolls and Social Security with a permanent Address making them a legal Tax paying Citizen;
subject to all the rights and provisions this Country provides to its citizens. Otherwise they continue to be a scab and a botch "WE THE PEOPLE"are obligated to support.

This is a pay as you go society and not a free lunch. If you live here you work here speak the FIRST Language and swear allegiance to the Constitution then you get to share equally in a system "EVERBODY" Supports and pays into! Time to come out of the woodworks and live in the open or follow your noses back across the Borders!

PUT THE BLANKET ON BLANKET AMNESTY

I know! I had no idea it would go on for days! Just remember not to purchase anything on 1/12, don't pick up your dry cleaning or get gas. Contact your local representatives, and the White House.

Also: Check out Hal Netkin's website. He's one of our local heros and is a one man army against corrupt local politicians. He has made a life out of chewing at the heels of these filthy traitors. Before some of you call this man a racist be aware he is married to a Mexican woman and has made several children. All this after retirement!!

Ooops! Here's the actual link to his website. You have to go in and read some of his letters to politicians. He also has an interesting piece on Political Correctness gone mad. It seems one man has complained about a hard drive having the words Master & Slave on it and wants all the county computers to have them swapped out with something less "insensitive."
