22 Years of Prolife Work for God, Country and Neighbor
Late in October 1973, grassroots prolife leaders became concerned that January 22, 1974, might come and go without properly memorializing the Supreme Court's infamous abortion decisions and without petitioning Congress for redress. No established right-to-life organization desired or was prepared to undertake the planning, financial and operational responsibilities for a prolife March on the U.S. Capitol. But, grassroots prolifers wanted to march!
Meeting in Washington around a dining room table, veteran prolife leaders from their state, county, and community organizations, resolved themselves into a temporary committee, selected a chairman, and began making plans and decisions. They divided the many jobs and established the famous Rose Committee for the "Say It With Roses" Campaign.
In 1974, the MARCH FOR LIFE was incorporated as a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization. It is action-oriented. Knowing that no sound action can grow out of a vacuum of purpose, MARCH FOR LIFE formulated the Life Principles as a forthright, comprehensive statement of the position motivating the prolife movement. The Life Principles guide MARCH FOR LIFE work, and are shown on the back and inside-back cover of this Annual Report. Life Principles formed the basis for developing the language of the "Paramount HUMAN LIFE AMENDMENT," by which the Constitution shall protect the unalienable and paramount right to life of each human being in existence at fertilization.

Well folks, it's nearing time for the March for Life down in DC and this is just a simple reminder to that if you are able to get to DC you should because the experience is uplifting and reinvigorating.
Here's an old thread that would like some new comments:
Is this a person?
And now a brief message from my granddaughter.

This must be the first event of its kind. It never gets reported in our local paper.

Can't understand why? When my sister went to the March with us, she was astounded at how so many people could gather in one place and not see a word about it on her local media outlets.

And there are usually rallies at state capitols for those of us too far away from D.C.

Why would hundreds of thousands of citizens marching on the Supreme Court be mentioned in the local media?

The same thing happens in Phoenix. 5000 pro-lifers gather at the state capitol, and they are invisible, but two SSAD people stand on the corner with signs, and it's a million whatever march!

Nice work, I have found that a lot of folks don't even know these things happen. You would think my Pastor would announce it in church every Sunday but in the NE they are fearful of losing parishoners if they actually preach waht their parishoners should be practicing.:-}

Just think - everyone under the age of 30 has been born to a mother who could have "chosen" not to continue her pregnancy, with the permission of the Supreme Court. This could be why so many young people are drawn to participate in the March for Life.

That's true and it is the most uplifting part of the event. To see so many young Americans marching to the beat of their non PC drummer is a sight to behold and I would recommend it to anybody.

I just read a lot of the posts on your previous thread. My belief is that when conception occurs, that is God given life, and should be treated as such. A civilized righteous society, is one that understands the sanctity of the unborn, has laws that protect, and would penalize those that would do harm. The pro-choicers who argue that the Govt. has no right to tell them what to do with their bodies, conveniently forget about the body they are aborting. Abortion is legalized MURDER, and a vexation on the soul of our society.

Right on Woody. How do you like my granddaughter? She was two when that picture was taken but always had a mind of her own and insisted on carrying the sign. Hardheaded, she takes after her grandfather. :-}

Same thing in Atlanta. Five city-blocks solid with marchers and it's reported as a few hundred shivering the cold.
To: Lesforlife
Ooooooo! Star Parker! Haven't seen her for awhile. Right on, Star! :-)

The view from Capitol Hill down Constitution Ave packed all the way to the memorial with marchers thirty across.
