WASHINGTON (CNN) --Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean's rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination lashed out Monday at his criticism of party chief Terry McAuliffe for failing to exert the leadership needed to prevent a bloody primary battle.

Dean is the Democratic front-runner in recent polls nationwide and in New Hampshire, which hosts the party's first presidential primary next month. He has joked about "picking buckshot out of my rear end" in previous campaign appearances, but attacks from his fellow Democrats have begun to dominate headlines and overshadowed his recent policy speeches.

I cannot believe that anyone could think this much less put it in writing for everyone to see. Have felt for years that the FAR left was scarey and this just confirmed those fears.

No way can Dean be allowed to win the Presidency. Eight years of Clinton was bad enough, but I have a hunch Dean would be worse and I didn't think that was possible.

The phrase "total disarray" comes to mind. It's been months since a high profile Dem said anything cogent. It's hard to imagine what goes on in the minds of those wanting these people in charge.

I think Nader is going to run on his own ticket and not for the gang'o'GReens party this goaround.

Wow,, having 4 or 5 "major" candidates running.. I like it!

Title: Lieberman aide calls Dean "Mad Cow"

Did Lieberman say that? If he really f**king said
that, I have to tip my hat to the little f**ker, I didn't
know he had the f**king balls.

If Dean makes any attempt to jump to another party the media will make sure he gets NO press at all.

Remember how they were happy to allow Ross Perot all the air time he wanted when it was clear he was hurting President Bush. Near the end of the campaign the media simply refused to even sell Perot any time.

My biggest fear with a President Dean is judicial appointees. He would appoint radicals and turn the Supreme Court into the 9th circuit court.

So now, when Dean says something asinine or completely untrue, no one is allowed to criticize him for it? And people actually want this man in office? If he's going to have a hissy fit over what his primary opponents say about him, what will he do to his conservative critics if he ever gains the power of the Presidency?

His own party is going to hate him before this is over.

Nah
If they don't hate Bubba after what he did to the party Dean is safe

Read "Seutonius on Nero" for a prediction of the Dean Presidency.

"If I was Karl Rove, all I'd have to do is look at the other campaign's daily talking points," Brazile said.

No, if I were Karl Rove, I'd be asking Americans if this is the kind of discourse they want from people who say we should be going to the international community more often. If we do go, what kind of discourse is to be expected from Democrats who swear in public, call each other names, and spew invective in place of political debate and international diplomacy?

. "If I was Karl Rove, all I'd have to do is look at the other campaign's daily talking points," Brazile said. "The party is sitting on it's ass, and I think that's a big mistake."

Graceless and crude language from a woman who is regarded to be one of the Democratic party's most distinguished advisors. They are rapidly becoming a party of odious vulgarians.

In the end, Dean's 'not guilty' plea for OBL will sink him just as 'Willie Horton' was almost singlehandedly enough to sink Dukakis. It was the quintessentially the stupidest thing any candidate, from any party, could ever make.

I think you are right about Nader -- going to run as an Indy not a Greenie. Must admit that I am glad this time around the RATs have all the problems with the large number of candidates. I am enjoying watching this time around!

I remember that about Perot! Little Big Ears couldn't believe the media.

Agree with you on Dean -- the media will give him no coverage unlike what they would have done if McCain would have run as an Indy.
