Black leader critical of Bank of America Kwanzaa gift card

CHARLOTTE (AP) The leader of a black cultural center is encouraging blacks to protest a Bank of America Visa gift card decorated with symbols of Kwanzaa, saying the card misuses the holiday.
Gerry Chisolm, executive director of the Nubian Rootz Cultural Center of Charlotte, said the card promotes overspending by blacks.
"They are attempting to commercialize our spiritual holiday of Kwanzaa," Chisolm told a crowd of about 50 people who had gathered Sunday the third day of Kwanzaa at the main branch of the local library for a presentation on black burial grounds.
"We feel it is urgent enough to bring to your intelligent attention."
"Ishay," the crowd responded, a term for affirmation in an African dialect.

Gerry Chisolm, executive director of the Nubian Rootz Cultural Center of Charlotte, said the card promotes overspending by blacks. Why is it that those of West African decent choose East African names to identify with?

Personally I loathe Bank Of America. These PC appeasing scum should go out of business for good. First "Press one for Spanish", then "Maticular card exceptance" now "I Kwanna make up a holiday". The sooner they go belly up the better.

You know there is just no pleasing some people. It doesn't matter what you do, somebody is going to complain about it.

omg...You just can't please some people.
Oh well, I'm for deleting the cards all together, anyway. Let's just pretend like it was before Ron Everett invented it.

"They are attempting to commercialize our spiritual holiday of Kwanzaa,"
I agree with Brother Chisholm of the Nubian Rootz Cultural Center. This is a gross attempt to commercialize an honored and respected holiday.
Can't we keep it real and remember, it's all about Umoja?
... and the corn!

A "holiday" made up by some guy whos convicted of raping and sexually abusing women, that was meant as a firestorm for black seperatism is not a SPIRITUAL HOLIDAY! Its a sham!

If they hadn't issued the "kwanzaa" card, they'd be be complaining. They should have issued it with the picture of that girl that the ex-con doofus tortued. That would set 'em off.
